<> The Island Headquarters
Some distance off the East Coast near New York, concealed from radar by endless amounts of cloaking devices, there lies the Island of the Brotherhood. Although relatively small, the Headquarters that are stationed here are highly technologically advanced in those buildings up there. The island itself rises high on one side out of the water, its craggy edges sheer cliffs into the ocean which breaks on their brine-coated bases. The other sides slope down a little, and are provided with ample vegetation and signs of wildlife, to a close eye. It's far too difficult to get too close to this island, however, from a regular boat with the dangerous rocks that crowd on most of its sides.

[Players : Raidha ]
Almost knee deep in the water, Raidha leans down - splashing a little and shaking out her hands. She looks out towards the horizon - the sun not yet having vanished over the water. She's dressed in normal clothes, as normal as they can be considered anyway - but Raidha doesn't seem to mind that the water has pretty much soaked her jeans. After a long moment of just staring out into the abyss - she does start to fade out of her serine sky-blue, her skin melding into a healthy tan color, her hair blackish-brown, and her eyes their natural jade.
Brendan had gone out a short time earlier and had been walking on the beach by himself...apparently there was a lot of things he had to think about, and he thought it best that he be away from everyone else while doing the thinking. As he begins to approach the compound once again, he spots a figure standing there in the water. As she changes her skin colors, he recognizes her immediately. "Hey," he calls out with a nod in her direction. "Why is it that we always seem to run into each other in strange situations like this?" He chuckles, his hands shoved in his jeans pockets. He had thrown on a t-shirt with the band name 'Pink Floyd' printed on the front in yellow letters, with the familiar Dark Side of the Moon triangle/prism/rainbow beneath. He had decided to go hatless as well...
Raidha turns, batting her eyes as she throws an almost lazy-gaze over Brendan, smiling as she immediatly is washed over with red. "Hey... ...What do you mean...?" She narrows her eyes, giggling softly. She doesn't move from where she stands in the water, tilting her head a little.
Brendan gives a shrug of his shoulders. "Well...it seems like every time I've seen you lately, the both of us have been either brooding about something or someone, or just sorta staring off into the sky and thinking about things." He grins as he walks slightly closer. "Hey, so we're introspective. That's a good trait, right? It means we take time out to think about our problems, and we usually don't rush into things without thinking about them long and hard." He pauses for a moment, then nods..."Usually."
Raidha grins, giggling and raising her eyebrows - hooking her thumbs in the front belt-loops of her jeans and leaning into them. "Usually." She confirms quietly, smiling. She turns to peak at the ocean (good - still there), motioning towards it with her shoulder, "I was looking at the ocean - like... no thinkin' going on here, I swear." She bites her bottom lip a little, laughing sheepishly and rolling her eyes.
Brendan laughs, "Well come on, you can't say that while looking at the ocean, there weren't thoughts going through your head? Something as awe-inspiring and majestic as the ocean has to at least make you stop and think about -something-, doesn't it?" Brendan smiles as his eyes turn to peer out at the horizon as well. "It's funny...sometimes when I see things like that..." he nods towards the horizon and the sunset..."...I just don't feel as angry and stressed out as I usually do, y'know? I think nature is the best stress reliever there is, heh. And there's nothing to buy or anything like that." He steps out of his shoes, then wades into the water up to his ankles.
Raidha looks back out towards the water, shaking her head a little bit, "I don't know... I think the ocean can be /quite/ stressful..." She shrugs, looking back to him and rolling her eyes, "Okay. I was like... thinking about the stupid battle. I can't find Lillianne like anywhere. And I can't talk to Chrome about it... and Lu... just... absolutely dispises me in every way." She smiles sweetly, looking back out to the ocean.
Brendan hmms. "Well then, I guess that's a problem then, huh?" he chuckles. "Well, if anything it might help you out in the long run. Y'know, with the whole 'unpredictability of life' thing. Who knows? In the future, if there ever is a situation, something could happen to your teammates and you would have to figure things out for yourself, right?" He shrugs, his eyes still fixed on the horizon. "As far as Lu goes, who cares if he despises you? That's -his- problem, not yours. If he can't put aside personal differences for the better of your team, well then...to hell with him. He'll one day find himself in a situation where he'll need you guys, and you conveniently won't be there."
"I shouldn't be talking to you about this - stop listening - You heard nothing." She cherps - glaring at him a little and pouting as she bends and slaps a hand across the water, splashing him and giggling.
Brendan pauses, an amusing and quizzical expression crossing his face for a few moments as he turns to peer at Raidha. "...huh? What'd you say?" He blinks..."I have -no- idea what you're talking about. Y'know, I -thought- I heard someone talking, but I wasn't sure..." he grins slyly, giving her a quick wink before he laughs. "Seriously though, I won't say a word, my lips are sealed. Promise." He takes a step back as he is splashed..."Heyyy!" He just stares at her incredulously for a moment or two, before his eyes narrow. "Oh -yeah-? You think you're so slick, huh? Well take THAT!" He reaches down and aims a light splash at her in return...
She lets out a playful girly scream before the giggling comenses, hopping back a little to play at trying to avoid it - creating a slightly larger splash just from moving abruptly in the water. "Brendan!" She screeches, as if shocked that he would do such a thing. She moves to splash him again, giggling.
Brendan laughs, "What? You started it! Don't give me that whole 'girls can't be splashed' thing, cause it's a bunch of bull. C'mere..." He takes a few steps towards her, splashing water as he goes, then he aims another light splash at her, even as he is bombarded with Raidha splashes at the same time. He doesn't seem to mind getting completely soaked...he loves swimming, anyhow, except for the fact that he has normal clothes on. Ah well, it's just water, right? "You are -so- going to pay for getting my favorite t-shirt all wet!" he teases...
Raidha giggles - moving away from him, screaming as she trips over herself and falls onto her back into the water. She leaps back up almost immdiatly, however, gasping as she does so - her hair slipping out of the buns she's become so fond of, falling back down past her shoulders. She grins to him, "This is /my/ favorite shirt!" She squeals in an attempt to be intimidating, leaping up at him to try and tackle him into the water.
Brendan pauses to point and laugh at Raidha as she ends up tripping and falling into the water. "Ah hah! Your balance -sucks-, y'know that?" By now he himself is pretty damp, but not completely soaked yet. He folds his arms, "I'll let you just sit there and think about what you did for awhile before I....gah!" His eyes go wide as he is suddenly lept upon and tackled, and he tumbles backwards into the water, making a relatively large splash as he lands. -Now- he's soaked. ;) He comes up spitting water, reaching up to clear the water from his eyes, all the while trying to turn the tables on his assailant by tugging her down with him. "Ha HAH! Eat...water...you fiend!" Hey, it's the best he could come up with on such short notice! XD
Raidha giggles, easily falling down with him - almost onto him. She comes up though, pealing her hair from her face as she spits out water. "You fiend?" She repeats teasingly, grinning and giggling more, splashing him a little - just sitting in the water and shaking her head at him.
Brendan erks as he is almost landed upon, sitting there in the water as he smirks in her direction good humoredly. "Hey, it was the first thing that popped into my head, okay? Not like I go around saying 'fiend' in normal conversations. We'll just let Chrome handle those kind of words, okay?" He grins, returning the splashing lightly. He reaches up with a hand and slicks the water out of his hair, before he pauses in his splashing to look around. "Heh. We're presently sitting in the ocean in our normal clothes, completely soaked and having a splash fight. Who'd have figured the day would end up this way, eh?" He laughs...before sending a new flurry of splashes at Raidha. "NOT ME!!! HAHAHAHA! EAT IT!"
She'd have been prepared for another round had Brendan not mentioned Chrome. She eeps, rushing foreward to try and grab his hands to stop him from splashing her. "You jerk!" She screams, giggling as she struggles. This would probably be cuter if she weren't unnecessarilly strong from this life of constant physical training...
Brendan was actually about to stop anyhow. He gasps, "Jerk? I am soooo offended right now...." he chuckles. When Raidha grabs his hands, he winces just slightly at her obvious strength. "Owch! Geez, woman, have you been drinking health shakes in the morning or something?" he jokes. "Again I tell you, remind me not to ever piss you off or anything. You could crush a watermelon with those hands of steel!" He grins down at her, raising his eyebrows. "OK fine, I promise I won't splash you anymore, even if you did start it..."
Raidha laughs, grinning and raising her eyebrows - not letting go, "Why should I trust you?" She asks, amused, panting. It is a little hard to keep her grip, however - what with being totally drenched.
Brendan grins. "Why should you trust me? Well...it's simple. When have I ever given you a reason -not- to trust me? Eh? Ehhhhh?" He manages to get his hands free, though he actually -doesn't- go back to the splashing...he just sorta swishes them back and forth in the water at his sides. "See? I'm trustworthy!" Brendan glances back over his shoulder for a moment just to make sure there were no senior members who had snuck up on them and were watching the display. How wonderful would that be if Magneto saw two of his recruits having a splash war? ;) Eventually, he turns his eyes back to Raidha and gives her his best innocent grin.
Raidha giggles, moving to stand up, glancing down at herself. "Ugh..." She throws a playful glare towards Brendan, rolling her eyes a little bit, pushing her wet hair behind her ears.
Brendan stands up as well, all drippy and soaking wet n'stuff, and he peers down at himself, his arms lifting. "Well, looks like I'm gonna have to hit the shower at some point soon, eh? Seems kinda ironic that I've have to shower after being splashed with water, but who knows what's been falling in this stuff..." Brendan chuckles at the glare thrown his way, and he begins to slosh towards the shore. "Hey, don't -even- give me that evil look. Like I said, -you- started it, missy..." he replies with a grin. "You didn't expect retaliation?"
Raidha puts her hands on her hips, trudging towards the island as well, "I didn't expect you to have the /balls/ to retaliate." She coos, "I'll have you know I'm /very/ scary/." She pouts, "Oh god..." She icks, holding her now tangled wet hair in front of her face so she can inspect it before tossing it away from her. "Salt water is stupid." She assesses, pealing the tank-top away from her and saking it out a little, letting it go so it can just return to clinging to her. She catches up to him, eyeing and muttering, "You're the one who provoked me..."
Brendan raises his eyebrows, "Oh, believe me, there are a few things about me that you don't know, the least of which is the fact that I definitely do have -balls-..." he snickers. "C'mon, give me a bit more credit than that, heh." He laughs as she pulls her hair out of her face, "See, that's why I don't have long hair, I don't have to worry about stuff like that. I figure I might as well keep it as low-maintinence as possible, so it's one less thing I have to worry about." As she catches up to him, he peers over at her. "Oh, I did, did I? How exactly did I do that? Was it my mere presence that intimidated you?" he laughs, giving her a light nudge with his shoulder.
Raidha grins, "More like your mere presence that made me want to put you out of your misery." She sticks out her tongue, "Boys don't need long hair - it's different." She rolls her eyes, "You don't at least have to give a /slight/ effort to be pretty." Imply that she doesn't give much of an effort, which she doesn't - it's true. "I'm like... going to go shower... and /study/..." She rolls her eyes once more, pushing him gently on the shoulder before quickening her pace towards the courtyard, jogging a little and then breaking into a sprint.
Brendan snerks, "Ohh, you're sooo lucky that we're going back to the compound. I would have totally drowned you back there for that one," he jokes, walking alongside Raidha as they head back towards the compound. "-Study-? Blech, what in the heck for?" She doesn't give an answer, however, as she has just taken off in a sprint towards the base. "Hey, waitasecond!" He eventually begins to sprint right behind her, kicking up sand as he goes. "Nofair, you had a head start!"
Raidha giggles, slowing to run with him, "Study to be better." She explains - hardly well enough for anyone to really interpret it. She reaches out to play slap his stomach - speeding up a little - doing her best to /win/ whatever it is this... is...
Brendan of course isn't quite sure what she means. "Better at what?" He erks as his stomach is slapped, and as she takes off again, he groans. "Darnit, why are you making me run so much? Get back here!" He chuckles, shaking his head for a moment as he too picks up his speed, trying to catch up with her again. And, if this has turned into some type of contest, to maybe try and pass her even.
Raidha slowls to a walk once she's made it to the Courtyard, giggling and turning back to check on him, raising her eyebrows, "/Everything/..." She answers, grinning and running her hands through her hair, shaking it out. "And I'm not making you do anything..." She adds, glancing him down and up, smirking.
Brendan actually wasn't too far behind Raidha, so once she slows down he ends up almost plowing right into her. He skids to a stop and almost lands on his face, but manages to catch his balance. "Whoa! Sorry bout that. heh. Everything, eh? Well, I guess that doesn't leave very much out, does it? You'll have all the bases covered." He grins, then nods his head. "Oh yes, you are...you made me run to try and keep up with you!" he chuckles. "You know I can't let you beat me in a race, I would never heard the end of it, y'know..." He folds his arms, looking her up and down as well.
Raidha folds her arms, mimicing him, "Oh pshhh." She winks, "It'd be like... our little secret." She smirks, saying in a teasing breathy voice, "I know /I'd/ want it to be a secret if I ever let you win..." Of course, he'd never win on his own.
Brendan hmms. "Oh, really? Well then, we may just have to do something about this sometime, then...maybe have a race or something to see who would win. And then the loser has to hear it from the winner every day for a month..." he grins, most likely joking. He reaches out to give her a very light and playful poke. "Better watch it, or I will start to poke you. It's definitely evil and annoying, and something not at all pleasant..." he grins.
Raidha pouts, rubbing her arm as if the poke had done some serious damage, "Owe..." She whines, batting her lashes and pushing out her bottom lip, gulping. "...butthead..." She comments, glancing him down and up, forcing down a smile with a cute frown. "Watch out..." She wags her finger at him, "Lu Xu had that kind of thing in mind and look at how that turned out.." She sticks out her tongue, wiggling her nose. With that she reaches to poke him back.
Rai does her best to jump out of his reach right after.
Brendan smirks as Raidha rubs her arm, knowing she's just joking yet playing along. "Oh come on, you wussy, that wasn't that hard and you know it. You're just trying to draw sympathy...." He gasps. "And did you just call me butthead? Jeez...well fine, you...you, um... turd burglar..." Oh, that's real mature. But hey, it's been a relatively immature evening so far anyways, so why not just continue the trend? ;) He ows! as he is poked back, trying to return the poke but she just so happens to hop out of the way in time. Taking another couple steps toward her, he tries another poke as he gets closer. "Hey, come back here and feel the wrath of the evil Pokey guy! Poke poke...poke poke poke...! You cannot escape..."
Raidha giggles, "Um /Ew/." She rolls her eyes, hopping away from him and letting out little cute screams as she tries to dodge his pokes, backing into the fountain with enough speed to force her into sitting.
Brendan grins. "Oh, trust me, I can totally outgross you with strange words...I was the master back in high school." As she screams, he snickers. "What's the matter, can't take it anymore? Hmmm? Can't stand the vicious flurry of pokes?" As he backs her into the fountain and she sits down, he retreats just slightly. "Hah. I win." He sticks his tongue out at her, actually feeling in a much better mood than he did before running into Raidha. Nothing like a bit of immaturity to cheer someone up. ;)
Raidha grins a little, "No - it's intermission." She runs up her chin a little, "I never went to highschool - you're damaging my fragile mind by exposing me to such things.." She shakes her head, placing a palm to her chest and sighing.
Brendan ahs, nodding. "Intermission, eh? Well fine...but I see no place to buy popcorn and other various fattening snack foods." He laughs..."Oh, I'm damaging your fragile mind, am I? Well that's pretty bad if talking about school damages your mind yet going through all the crap we've gone through here so far hasn't done a thing..." He folds his arms again as she sighs. "You better not do that too often, you might make he start to have a bit of sympathy for you. Then all the poking and the splashing won't be quite as fun..."
Raidha sighs again, glancing away dramatically and looking up to the sky, "Woe is me..." She smirks, slowly standing, leaning foreward and poking him before she hops away, giggling. "I win!" She finally does /actually/ run away though, into the dorms.
Brendan sighs, rolling his eyes for a moment as he is poked, and as Raidha flees into the dorms, he turns and follows. "Heeeey, get back here you evil woman!" he calls out as he trails her....
