OOC: Log backdated to last night, around 6-ish.
Sometimes, I wonder: why am I a mutant? Aren't mutants supposed to be some next evolved step, with some great power to survive? To defend themselves? They're the next chain in evolution, and that much better at survival. But my mutation... It doesn't really do anything for me; sometimes, I just feel like I'm a human cursed to look like some sort of freak of nature. To stand out from everyone else not just because I'm foreign, but different, and a failure at that.
Then I think of people like Brendan, who can't blend in even if they want to.
I think of people whose mutancy is even more apparent than mine, like Ted, or his friend Lillian.
Maybe I'm more than just a human with funny colored hair and eyes, and a green thumb. Maybe I was blessed - cursed? - to be a mutant, to be able to understand those who have so much more trouble adjusting than me. Who can't get by so easily with just a smile.
Maybe I'm here to teach, and to help people like Nisa to learn.
> Mari and Nisa's Room(#1638RA)
A standard dorm room here at Xavier's. Two twin beds that can form bunk beds or be left separate, two desks with room for both computers and homework, two chairs, two bookshelves, two dressers. Two closets, too. Sensing a theme yet? There's a bathroom shared with the room next door, accessable through a sliding door on the side wall. A bay window with a gorgeous view of the grounds also boasts a comfortable built-in window seat with storage cabinets underneath. Combined with the high ceilings, hardwood floor and airy plaster and moulding, this is clearly a setting somewhat swanker than a college dorm might be, although personal touches reflecting the occupants' taste are apparent.

[Players : Nisa ]
Nisa lays unconscious in her bad, curled into the fetal position. Her hair is messy, clothing rumpled. She is snoring lightly, and there is a prescription bottle sitting on her nightstand.
Averillix knocks gently at the door, which, seemingly, is unlocked. "Nisa...?" The French teacher twists at the door, sticking her nose in, glancing around and, seeing Nisa lying down, she enters just a tiny ways in, a small, baby aloe vera plant in one hand as she does. "Nisa, is it okay for me to come in?"
Snoring. That's the responce she gets.
Averillix isn't sure, but figures it's not going to kill or hurt if she comes in. She moves into the room further, looking around, then goes to put the plant on the nightstand; as she does, she spots the prescription bottle. This is picked up, and with a tilt of her head, she reads the label, slow-like.
The label explains that the pills it contains are Hydrocodone, and were prescribes by Dr. McCoy earlier that day. Nisa stirs a bit in her sleep.
"Hy-dro-co-ne," Averillix sounds out loud, peering over at Nisa. As the girl stirs, she puts the pills back down, moving to press a hand against the fellow flower girl's forehand, smoothing back her hair all mother-like. "Nisa. Nisa, dear, are you doing alright?" she asks softly.
At Averillix's touch, Nisa's eyes flutter slightly. One eye opening very slowly, she mumbles, "Mhumpf?"
Averillix gives a small, relieved smile, as well as a sigh. "Hi, Nisa," she says, keeping her voice soft. She peers around, then moves to sit at the foot of the bed. "Doctor McCoy told me that you weren't feeling too hot... I don't mean to bug you but I wanted to check on you."
Nisa sits up in her bed, rubbing the chemical-induced sleep from her eyes. Smiling faintly at Averillix, she leans against the wall for support and says, "Yeha, not do so good this weekend. Thankyou, Averillix."
Averillix gives a nod of her head. Her eyes had been a whitish tone, previously, but upon seeing Nisa stir more, they revert to their usual. "It's okay. ... Are you hungry? I can bring you something up." She tilts her head a bit, sighing. "What happened? I was pretty busy, and so..."
Nisa shakes her head. "Food would be nice, it hard to get down to Kitchen right now." She hangs her head a bit as she beings the explaination of her condition. "Was in City, and met man there I meet before, and he offer to teach fight, and so did, but he hit /really/ hard a lot in stomach."
Averillix's brows furrow, and her eyes again whiten. "Oh, Nisa... What are you doing, fighting with strangers?" A hand is placed on the girl's knee, and she sighs. "I know I'm not very strong, but /I/ can teach you how to defend yourself, at least. Then again, if I were around more often." Avex looks about ready to curse herself inside out and sideways, taking the fault on herself.
Nisa puts her hand on top of Averillix's "He not /total/ stranger, I meet him once before. And he was in mutant coffee shop, so he already know what I was." She stops pondering the guilty look on Averillix's face. Hmmm. "But, I get him good!" she offers, trying to lighten the mood.
Averillix does laugh, a little bit, and she gives a little nod. "Oh yeah? Do you want me to fetch your dinner, and then you can tell me about it?" she offers.
Nisa nods. "If you not busy," she says.
Averillix nods gently. She moves to stand up and, as she gets ready to leave, she points at the nightstand. "I brought up a baby aloe vera. It's really new, and I thought you might enjoy its company, whenever you got up." She heads out the door then, waving. "I'll be back." And then she shuts the door.
Nisa looks to the plantling and picks up the pot, holding it protectively in her arms. She gently runs her fingers along the plants and speaks softly in Norwegian, letting it get used to her voice and touch.
Averillix returns, avec dinner on a tray and a tall glass of water. It's still pretty warm and, as she manages the door back open, Averillix laughs. "I had to fight to get this out for you, y'know. There's some hungry mutants down there." The professor places the food on the nightstand, grinning softly. "So, about this fight...?"
Nisa smiles, returning the baby plant to its new home on her night stand. "Thankyou, for food," she says, taking the tray. "Well, went to park to fight and he tell me to hit him, so I did! But then he hit /back/, and he not /say/ he was going to hit back." She pauses to take a few bites of food.
Averillix chuckles lightly, and she shakes her head lightly. "And then what happened?" The little plant is glanced to, and as she listens, Avex moves to pin up her hair.
Continuing, Nisa says, "Then Ewen come around corner, and think he trying to hurt me. He try to make Deadpool stop, but instead of stopping he go after /him/. So, I try to get him to leave Ewen alone, but he not listen, and kick him! So, anyways," she pauses again for more food. Mmmm, meatloaf. "He start fighting with me again, and then Ewen try to make him stop again, and I manage to hit him!"
"Ewen? Deadpool?" Averillix's eyes flicker different shades in her confusion, but she merely nods. Her smile grows a bit more as she listens. Then she laughs aloud. "Wait, wait. You hit who this time? Ewen? Deadpool?" Nisa had... an interesting weekend, sounds like, and the French teacher can't help but to marvel.
Nisa says, "Hit Deadpool," she clarifies. "I made stick into spear, and got him in the stomach!" she exclaims, making thrusting motions with her hands. It oculd be safe to say that she's more enthusiastic about this than a 'normal' teenage girl should be. "But then he was creepy and slide himself /up/ the spear, and punch me!" After another pause for food she continues, "So I punch him in head couple times, and he hit me back, and kicked me, and the Bridget came and made fighting stop. Was glad she came though. I didn't want to fight anymore, but if I had just walked away, would have been coward!"
Averillix's eyes now widen, paling to white; the little plant react be leaning to one side. "You... stabbed someone in the stomach?" More and more shock enters the woman's face, and she gives a little shudder; at about 'didn't want to fight anymore', she raises her hands both up. "Wait, wait, stop. You /STABBED/ someone, and punched them in the face?"
"Yes, he had own sword, but wouldn't give me one. Said if want a weapon, find one! And I not want to fight close to him, he /much/ bigger than I am. But he /heal/ it, so it did not matter. But then Ewen take me away to other side of park, and we talk for a while before I take bus home. He's nice, from England, and he teaches football for 'hooligans'" she finishes, rolling Ewen's word for the juveniles in her mouth.
"Nisa..." Averillix's smile is now a nervous, uneasy one, but still with a hint of laughter. She bites gently at her lower lip, and she shifts awkwardly on the bed, moving to twiddle bare feet's toes with her fingers. "It's... good, that your ... friend-" What kind of friend was this?! "had a healing factor and everything... But you shouldn't really - were you all in public?" Obviously the Ewen account gets set on the back burner.
"Oh no, not in public. In wooded area of big Park, no one around, except Ewen." After finishing another bite of food she adds, "And Bridget, once Deadpool /scream/."
Averillix groans softly. "Parks are not good places to fight, either... I guess you mean Central Park?" The glass of water is pointed to next, and she wriggles her finger. "Drink. You need your water."
Nisa obediantly drinks her water, and sets the tray aside, dinner completed. "I thought so to, but that where he wanted to go, Central Park, yes."
Averillix gives a soft mutter in French, shaking her head. "Well, Nisa, your adventure sounds... very fun indeed, but next time your ... friend wants to fight, tell him that Central Park isn't a good idea. You could get arrested - or cited by bigots." She says this last part a bit tensely, shaking her head and sighing. "You do /not/ want to run into bigots, especially being a foreign mutant. Trust me."
Nisa looks down at her lap. She hadn't thought of that at the time. "Yeah, anti-mutants bad enough in old country," she muses half to herself.
Averillix blinks, tilting her head. "Well, no, Nisa, I didn't mean to scold you. Kind of." The woman sighs. "I just had another run in last night with an anti-mutant, anti foreigner, and so I thought I should warn you." The woman stands, giving a soft sigh. "I have to go back and do some more research, but I'll talk to you again later, alright?"
Nisa looks up at Averillix and nods. "Thankyou. For spending time with me. You're... you're one of only teachers that does."
Averillix gives a soft, semi-sad sort of smile, but her eyes do deepen in tone. "It's nothing, Nisa. I enjoy spending time with you." The girl's knee is given another pat and, gathering up tray and glass, she heads out the door. It's placed against her hip as she opens it, and, giving one last wave, Averillix heads out.
