I'm am getting pretty busy. My classes have a lot of reading and the conference I've been a part of planning since August is happening in just two weeks. There's really a lot more too. I think there's a good chance that these next few months will be a time in my life that I will look back on and remember well and probably be proud of myself for.
If you are registered to vote in California please please read up on propositions 94-97 and vote on them. I think that it is profoundly important. The website supporting these propositions is www.yesforcalifornia.com and the website against them is www.nounfairdeals.com. Think about what it means for 4 tribes with casinos(including Pechanga) to suddenly get nearly 4 times as many slot machines. What will it do to Temecula? What will it do for the tribe of members who already each receive $30,000 a month from the casino? What will it do to the other tribes? What about the environment? Gambling addicts? California's economy? Some of these things may have positive benefits, some not depending on your perspective too I suppose. To me it's clear that this will be extremely detrimental. Please vote though. At the very least, you should understand that the effects (good or bad) will be huge.
Oh, and vote in the presidential primaries too, but to be honest that's a whole lot easier to feel ambivalent about. I know who I'm voting for but it's a lot harder than the propositions to really feel sure and good about it. Nobody is flawless.
I really thought I had more substance about my life to talk about. I could I guess... but I won't.
