I'm going back to school tomorrow. It's been a nice break and it'll be nice to get back. It's not easy to be the person I want to be. I really blow it sometimes, but it is encouraging when I improve. I really think that God has been changing me, but it's slow.
Well, I always like when people post what their classes are so I will too. This semester I'll be taking HNGR Research Methods and Field Prep or something. It'll be a preparation for my 6 month internship with the HNGR program starting this summer. I'm taking Culture Theory, Social Change, Anthropology of Global Christianity, and Craft of Anthropology. I'm really looking forward to these classes. I'll also be really busy with some other things. I'll still be going to that soup kitchen every week, I'm on a committee that is planning a big conference in 4 weeks so that'll get hectic, and I'll probably be tutoring a refugee family again.
I bought some new music today. The new(est) Iron and Wine, the new Ryan Adams 7 song dealy and Wilco & Billy Bragg. So far I'm happy with the choices. Iron and Wine sure is good.
Man, I don't think I've ever felt so charged about politics as I do right now about the California propositions 94-97 to be voted on on February 5th. They will allow 4 already huge California casinos (including Pechanga) to increase by more than 3x. I think it's a terrible way for our governor to try to get out of debt... make the casinos bigger and have them pay more taxes at the expense of all the people that become addicted to gambling and lose all their money, at the expense of the communities like Temecula, and at the expense of smaller tribes which are dirt poor and really won't be able to compete. There's more too. Please vote no on these propositions. Go to www.nounfairdeals.com. This is way too important (just don't tell my step-dad).
I'll be home for my spring break and I'm bringing my stunning girlfriend with me. It starts March 9thish or something.

Oh, and p.s. To everyone that's been talking about how they're outgrowing Livejournal or it's dead or something... I kind of agree
