Apparently the Washington Redskins are good predictors of presidential elections. If they win the last home game before the election, the incumbent's party wins. Today was the last homegame before teusday. The 'skins lost to Green Bay 28-14. In my opinion this is very significant. Not only will bush lose the election, it will be partly due to Kerry carrying Wisconsin.
Of course many people have been floating horror stories about colorado being the next florida, with campaigns already waiting atpoling booths all over the country in case people are wrongly turned away. Activist judges probably wont decide this election like they did last time, but there is another possibility. Tim Russert broguht it up again this morning. If there is a 269-269 tie, the election goes to the house. The Republicans probably will keep control of the House, giving Bush a victory. To me this is a much more legitamte course of action than the Supreme Court decision. It is how a parliamentary system works. Tony Blair wasn't elected by a majority of british citizens, rather his Labor Party was, and they controlled the parliament, making him prime minister. How do other's feel about thisscenario, especially given that bush may lose the popular vote again in this country?
