new job!
Two days down... here’s how it goes so far. The people I work with are all very nice and friendly and helpful. We start at 745 - 430 which is great for getting off early but has been brutal in the mornings since I still have not been used to getting up so early. Lots of coffee has helped.
Perks! +++ fitness center for free, a whole post office area you can use for personal stuff as well, coffee cart (visits our floor twice a day with snacks/beverages-she is hilarious!), a SWEET cafeteria (wish it had more veg friendly options though but the salad bar is amazing), great hours, paid every week, MY OWN DESK!, great coworkers, great boss, super flexible... what is not to like?
My favorite - the health benefits. For a $250 deductible individual plan I only have to pay $7.75 a week... that is before they pay you an allowance of $9 and some change for health benefits... so yah, they pay me for my health insurance? WTF?
Oh and they aren’t internet Nazis either! They have blocked sites, like this one is… but you can use your ‘internet quota’ of 90 minutes a day to play around on blocked sites so I can do stuff like this, even myspace and facebook over lunch! WEEE!
And of course the actual work I have been doing is miniscule right now. They are mid-quarter and have trained me on a few things but so far it seems like things will still be a challenge and still very interesting!
