Life.

I'm feeling really incapable, stressed out, and pretty fucking depressed right now, so here's a list of good things that have happened/are going to happen to me:

+I saw Pinback live, and they were super fun. I loved the way they played all of their songs at a faster tempo, and the movie screen/starlight theme they had going in the background. They played every song I've ever wanted to hear except for "Syracuse," but I can't be all that upset because their original keyboard guy is home battling cancer, and this new guy only signed on a few weeks ago.

+I stood 6 feet away from the stage at the Death Cab for Cutie show!! Their opener, St Vincent, was crazy cute and really talented, and didn't make the time before Death Cab feel like forever, as lots of openers who I'm not familiar with beforehand tend to do. Then Death Cab came on and they were great! It was crazy to sing along to all those songs I've been singing since I was 14. While they're not Top 5 status or anything like that Death Cab was definitely an influential band for me growing up, and seeing them live was pretty life-affirming. I'll admit it: I cried.

+Okkervil River. Webster Hall in NYC. I'm not sure I can put into words how incredible it was. It was a fucking performance. It was fucking mind-blowing. Without a doubt the best show I've ever been to. Will Sheff gives his all on every album and in every performance, and I can't  tell you what it's like to hear him sing "A Stone" surrounded by hundreds of people and have the place so silent you could hear a pin drop. They played a solid mixture of oldies and newbies, and live music will never be the same to me again.

That's me in  the beginning whispering, "Oh, my God, it's 'For Real'" or whatever the fuck I said, and Mike's the curly-haired kid rocking the fuck out in the front row. You can also see me fist pumping if you look hard enough.

+I'm a film star! No, not the porno kind, and not the Universal Studios kind, either. Quinnipiac University Film Society  is putting on a short film called "Guaranteed A," and they gave me the lead. Shooting starts this Friday and I'm in basically every scene, which is scary and exciting at the same time. I haven't acted since the Vagina Monologues, so right now it just feels good to be back.

+I spent 4ish days in Maryland. I ate a lot and spent time with family and friends and my dog, who has lost so much weight!! It felt incredible to be home and regroup. I miss it already.

+I wrote an article a couple weeks ago that I'm really proud of and really affected me. It solidified the fact that I still want to do journalism after all these years.

+My comfort food from Primo just came. I'm going to eat it while the best roommates ever and I watch part of a movie before lame tv starts.

I didn't think doing this was actually going to make me feel better, but it did.
