So Friday night Britt, Tim, Joe, and Myself head down-state to stay at Tim's Dad's house for Fiend Fest. I couldn't sleep for the life of me that night. I was too excited for Saturday... I had no idea how awesome it would actually be...
Saturday rolls around, and we leave super early for the show. We get there at about 2 and the doors wouldn't open until 6. We did that on purpose so we would have a good spot in line, since the tickets were General Admission. Turns out, we wouldn't even need to wait in line.
We see the tour bus roll up to the building. IT WAS MISFITS AND OSAKA POPSTAR! Robo (Misfits drummer)comes around the corner and asks us if there's a Wal Mart around anywhere, we said we didn't know but pointed him in the direction of a Family Dollar. Now, the venue was smack in the middle of the ghetto, and dude walked there by himself. Robo rules man. But OK, seriously, I couldn't make this up even if I tried. They were the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. They had a whole bunch of stuff to sign for us and we even got to hang out with them on their tour bus for awhile. Jerry Only and John Cafiero are 2 of the best people in the world and 2 of my heros, and I'll never forget how they treated us. They signed our tickets and asked Britt if she had hers, she told them no and that she was waiting to get them at the door. Jerry and John told her not to worry about it and to talk to their tour manager Brad about hooking her up. THAT'S RIGHT, THEY LET HER IN FOR FREE!!! They also said we could help ourselves to the catering if we wanted something to eat. I hate to keep going on and on but they were just so nice to us and I'll never forget that.
We let them get back to watcing the Ohio State game and Brad took us inside 3 hours early and we got to hang out and not wait in the cold. While inside we hung out with the band Orange and they were the super cool too. We talked about God knows what for a few hours, and they gave me a dental dam. It was time for the bands to do their sound-checks. We got to see everyone do their soundchecks including The Misfits. They played Some Kinda Hate and American Psycho... it was like a whole different concert before the actual concert.
The concert it's self was awesome! It was the first time I've heard the Aditcts and UK Subs and they both made me a fan. Osaka PopStar and The Misfits rocked the place though, and I couldn't have been happier. After the show, we grabbed some White Castle, got lost in Crackton, and finally ended up back at Tim's house for some well needed rest. Tim's dad was really great and I want to thank him for his hospitality.
It's not everyday you get to meet your heros. It's not everyday you get to hang out with your heros and have them be super cool to you. It was seriously the best day of my life, and I'll never forget it.
