I spent Friday night and Saturday morning cooking for
anarchist_nomad party last Saturday.
I made:
For snacking:
Devil Eggs
Banana Muffins
Blueberry Muffins
French Bread
I been making a lot of muffins since Nancy, Mar-Ce and Will gave me the silicon baking set for Christmas. Making muffins is now a snap without having to grease and paper muffin tins.
The French bread recipe is from
Fitzotter Christmas present "The Bread Maker Apprentice Cookbook". It uses a fifty-fifty combo of bread flour and all purpose flour, yeast, salt and water. The bread has no sugar. The sweet almost sour dough taste come from the sponge that was made the day before and allowed to slowly work on half the flour overnight in the refrigerator.
For desserts:
Four Layer Gold cake with chocolate flavored seven minute frosting and raspberry/strawberry preserve filling.
Pineapple upside down cake
Flour-less chocolate cake
Three fruit cobbler -- cherries, peaches, and pulots with a all butter crust.
The gold cake was a complete experiment. It was not a perfect as I wanted. I looked a little mutated, but it tasted OK. The flour-less chocolate cake was a new recipe and it came out great. I will be making another one for this weekend.
