What now?

It is a little strange having time to work on my other various projects that got put on hold during the past several months of working on TempleCon. I'm not entirely sure what to do with myself. Part of the problem is that I've been under the weather for most of the past two weeks, since the massive, extended sleep-deprivation leading up to the con seems to have done a number on my immune system. :P Since TempleCon is a relatively new convention, it has been subject to the kinds of difficulties that most start-ups suffer, which older organizations have had time to work out, so hopefully next year's incarnation of the con will be less physically exhausting to bring to fruition.

But right now, I am still a bit wobbly, trying to get caught up on non-convention-related work, as well as attending to post-convention matters that need to be addressed (book-keeping, industry follow-up, etc.). Since I have a tendency to keep many irons in the fire, I am a bit uncertain which one to grab at the moment...

I'm starting to step up my modeling work again, although thanks to the fact that my disk drive is broken, I can't show off my most recent work. :( Since I've got some yucky head-cold thing at the moment, instead of going out gaming tonight I stayed home and did some initial work on a series of Art Trading Card drawings - it's a format that I find I rather enjoy, since it's compact and I don't find myself fussing over the layout as much as I do with larger and more complex pieces.

I'm also working on painting some more of my Cryx models for WARMACHINE, since I'm scheduled to head down to Connecticut and play for a bit with the crew there on Saturday, no doubt to have my behind handed to me at every turn... :P

I want to get back on the performance horse ASAP, but right now the only ideas for shows that I'm getting involve monstrously complicated costumes and sets, and tons of people, so putting something together might take a while. The problem is, everything that I've got in my head right now is in a steampunk vein, involving mechanical constructs that I have no idea how to achieve without much more time and expense than I can currently spare... No doubt, this just means that these ideas have a bit longer to stew in my head before they are ready to be served...

And that never-ending graphic novel project has had a wee bit of progress again, finally. The muse for that one is fleeting, coming and going in fits and spurts. I am seriously considering putting it together in web comic form, if only to start getting it out there sometime in my lifetime. :)

For now, however, I think I'll do a bit more painting and then head to bed. :)
