Happy New Year's Eve, peoples! I hope you've all had a good holiday season, not too busy or stressful, and I hope the snow isn't as bad where you are as it is here.
I'm home until mid-January and my mother and I are hosting New Year's Eve for the fourth time in a row this year, so we've been busy all morning shoving things in the oven, organising the 'bar' (which is as impressive this year as it is every year. Never let it be said that we let our guests go sober), and stowing away anything that clashes remotely with the furniture so as not to give my grandmother any cause to nitpick. The latter is an exercise in futility, that woman could nitpick in a blank room, but I like to think we do our best. This means we're essentially stuck living in a home catalogue for the weekend. We're not messy people by any manner or means, but the level of perfection my grandmother demands is eerie.
And of course, I can't smoke in the presence of my esteemed grandparents even though nicotine is key in dealing with the jibes about my weight which are bound to occur considering that I plan to wear a dress tonight for the first time in years.
First world problems, I know.
In less complainy news,
eagleoftheninth sent me an awesome Christmas box, and the Doctor Who Christmas special was amazingly... fishy. So... What has everyone else been up to?
