Admittedly, I watched it at ~3 am, which is not exactly conducive to critical analysis, and on a Tomo high and a little loopy from watching Natsu Dokos forever. So it might not be as legit as I thought it was at the time. BUT it will never not be better than Boys Love 2 because NOTHING IS WORSE THAN BOYS LOVE 2. In my mind, it is the worst movie ever for a variety of reasons. First off, teacher-student relationships squick me out hardcore. Then there was that spineless loser roommate kid and when he killed himself I officially gave up on the whole thing forever and started hating it. And the way they handled that asshole antagonist guy just... ughhhhhhh. So you're an bullying doucheface that tries to force himself on the main ukechara? Okay, that's pretty standard BL fare, can't be helped. Oh, what's that? You were in love with that weak loser boy all along? And you showed it through years and years of spitting on him and pushing him around? WHY DIDN'T ANYONE SEE IT SOONER IT WAS SO OBVIOUS. He essentially drove that guy to suicide and then angsted about it forever while in his mind the other kid(Sora?) was completely to blame for driving his poor love to such a state. I'm a little sketchy on the details from then on but as I recall he pretended he changed and then somehow sent Sora to hospital and the teacher guy beat him up (BEST SCENE) and as far as I can tell he suffered no consequences other than getting punched a bit. NOT. HAPPY. Also, I mean, I can deal with ~*drama*~ and unrealistic stuff, but this was WAY over the top. The first one was pretty bad, yes, but a lot more of that seemed at least plausible (from what I recall, I hated it less so I don't remember it as well). And I can deal with sadness and not-happy endings, but when it comes after all this crap before it? Nuh-uh. Not impressed. Angst for the sake of angst does not a satisfied Asuka make. Granted, were I to watch it for the first time now, I might enjoy it more than I did at that time. Were I to see it with not-awful subtitles or even completely unsubbed, that'd probably help. But it would take a considerable sum of money to entice me to watch that thing again. Once was way, way, WAY more than enough.

tl;dr: Boys Love 2 was everything I hate about the genre wrapped up into a 90 minute package of frustration and disappointment.

HANDS DOWN BEST EPISODE. I watched it again last night and totally cried again, sad!Tomo is just too sad and pretty when hes crying ;~; He has really gorgeous eyes... I dunno because he is too perfect for these kinds of parts maybe?
