He walked in the mall's halls with his hair down and his hands stuffed in the pockets of his leather jacket. The place always seemed to be teaming with people, a clot of writhing humanity clogging up some artery of business. Edward did his best to sidestep and shift away from the clusters of people who stood in the middle of the walking area, thinking they could just tie up traffic while they figured out who was the latest 'hottie' in their class. Ed walked by them, not giving a second look, but while he moved away, he would cluck his tongue and shake his head. So many kids thought that school was more of a social experiment then a place of education.
His eyes scanned the shops, trying to find the ones that would be able to help him with his problems. The vast majority of the stores were overwhelming to him, as was 'Malltopia' in general. Edward wasn't used to having this kind of selection, nor these many people to compete with. It was a good thing he decided to go Christmas shopping early and to pick up the presents for people he knew well. The others could have something generic, or he'd find something last minute. The only people on the forefront of his mind right now were his brother and closest friends.
"Geez... how complicated can this possibly be?" The words clearly indicated his exasperation as he neared the food court, coming to the starting point of his journey. "It can't be this difficult, can it? I've never had this much trouble before."
