Hopefully out of immediate sight? Right.

Luka felt something quite out of place when she stepped into the library, slowing to a stop and eying the room with suspicion. Litter? Graffiti? Another brat setting books on fire just to push her butto-- Ugh. The thought made her shudder in disgust. But it was quiet; the normal quiet that was so puzzling. It may have been that stirring paranoia in her stomach, she thought.

Well, she hoped.

It wasn't until the librarian wandered to the back that she discovered this kingdom of books. It would be a joyous find if were gold instead of a student simply messing with books. Crouching infront of it, she called out:

"May I speak to the king of this castle?"

It was an awfully sweet voice... and Caesar might find an awfully sweet smile. Such librarians should be approached cautiously.

Things that Caesar did not like the sound of: that. That voice was way too sweet to be trusted. He set the book he'd been reading down quietly on the table and crept away from the chair. In retrospect, maybe he should have built a second entryway into this thing. Well, that was a thought was next time. Yeah. Next time.

"I'm afraid the king is out at the moment. I can take a message for him?"

Don't mind Caesar. He's just trying to quickly and quietly deconstruct part of the back wall here.

"Out? I could have sworn he was in here...~"

Peeking inside, she locked eyes on her "target" in the back, attempting to make a pitiful escape. Now just imagine your castle bursting into flames with that piercing look from Luka.

"Oi. I'm invading."

Oops. He's caught.

Caesar's escape was thwarted before it could even begin. He at least had the sense to not try booking it anyway. Instead he turned and smiled at the librarian, despite that look she was giving him.

"I see that. May I suggest we come to terms on a peaceful surrender?"

It's like her scoff is right on cue with `peaceful surrender`.

"Don't move and we can. First of all, got a name?"

... So she may think of a suitable punishment, she did not add.

So much for his plan of being scarce in time to avoid Luka. He wasn't about to bring up how he already has detention 'forever' for other reasons, in case she decided to just give him more detention. Caesar remained crouched, a book in hand. See? Not moving.

"Well of course I do. Doesn't everyone?"

She appears more and more irritated by the minute. It must be one of those days.

"Give me your name and I might go easy on you."

Sounded like the librarian was in a bad mood today. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with her books being used as building blocks, right? Caesar dared to move, but only to set the book he'd been holding down.

"Caesar."

And why she might be in a bad mood? That was something only for the woman to know... Or not know.

Scratching at her cheek for a moment, she sighs; the sigh of "going easy."

"Alright, just get this cleaned up and you're off the hook... Caesar."

"Saying that with such venom."

Tch. How rude. Caesar shrugged and stood back up. He looked around at the book fort. Oh sigh, this was going to take forever. He should have got out of here earlier.

"...oh well. Alright. I'll do that."

Okay, okay. She could feel little waves of sympathy right there. Sure, this librarian doesn't want to be one of those librarians-- Strict on rules and taking the opportunity to ruin another's day with lectures. That might be taken a little from experience, but it doesn't matter at this point. Luka's expression softened a little.

She began to make her way back out, but suddenly a strike of curiosity had her turning back.

"... What exactly were you doing in here anyways?"

Caesar started with the wall of reference books, but the fort's deconstruction lasted about two books down before Luka turned back with her question.

"Initially I was working on a project for class, then my attention wandered."

Wandered right into building a fort entirely out books. He knew it wasn't the most logical progression, from boredom to book fort, but hey, when an idea strikes...

"Oh."

'Oh'? That was all that woman seriously could think to say? She stared off into space quarrel with herself, so blame her slow thought-process. A project? For a class?

That could mean...

It wouldn't be that...

He's just...

"--Hey, you can keep the book fort as long as you remember to put them back where they came from." A beat. "Alriiiight?"

Did her brain just eat itself or something?

Caesar watched Luka expectantly, waiting to see what else she might be about to say. That 'oh' did sound like she had just recalled something. That she would suddenly relent on the book fort's existence was a surprise, though. It didn't release him from having to clean the mess up, but at least he could slack off a bit longer...

"Sure." He left off pulling apart the wall of books and returned to the table inside the fort. "Any particular reason you changed your mind?"

Luka lightly shakes her head and shifts her feet, apparently too distracted by her own thoughts to give a reasonable answer. Giveheramomenttojumpbackintoreality...

"It wouldn't be fair since I... did the same thing." She hurriedly waves off her explanation with a smile. "Ah--not exactly to this extreme."

"You did?" Caesar flopped down in the chair and picked his book up once more. "It must be hard to resist. Books are the right shape for making walls, after all."
