[Yeah, Jim's not in the best of moods. Alarm never went off, so he was late. School work was left behind. Ridiculed in front of plenty of other students... yeah not a good day at all. So he heads down to the kitchen to find something to eat.]
[Jim, catching the girl walking about in the corner of his eye, looks to maybe see if there's something he would prefer to eat in the fridge. Great, nothing in the fridge either. Perfect. Forgetting the girl who was there already, he drops his bag with a thud onto the top of the island, dropping himself unhappily onto a nearby chair. He brings a hand through his hair in frustration. Nothing's going right today.]
[Jim's in the middle of rubbing his eyes, as if trying to wake up and find the reset button for today has been pushed, when he hears a voice. A bit startled, he looks up and realizes that he had forgotten about the girl who had been busy baking away in here. In a momentary panic he checks underneath his bag to make sure he didn't unknowingly crush any thing of hers. Looks all clear, thank goodness.
He slumps back down in his chair and rubs his face with a mix of relief and frustration.]
Hey... sorry, I didn't realize you were back here. I'll be outta here in a sec.
[Cookies? Why would Jim need a cookie?! Then again... the smell of them baking just started to register in his brain, and they smell really nice... Aw hell, why not? He shrugs and lets out a soft chuckle.]
[He slouches back in his seat as she brings the cookies over. He lets the scent of them fill his nose, and he seems to fight back a smile. He remembers the smell of cookies like these back home. He reaches over and gingerly takes two. They're still warm, he always liked cookies like that.]
Thanks.
[He bites into the first one and the girl has earned herself a rather happy smile from a usually grumpy Jim.]
Yeah... hard to argue that. My mom would say the same thing. [He takes up the second cookie and takes a bite. Something feels missing though, once his mouth isn't full he speaks up.]
You want anything to drink? Glass of milk would go well with these cookies.
[He's already getting up to see if there's some milk in the fridge.]
