[Have a twelve-year-old with a pile of books headed outside--it's after curfew, although she does have an excuse, but one which is one of those verbal explanations with no actual paperwork involved.]

[Javert is quick to halt her, a mild grimace at his mouth. He simply steps into her path like a security checkpoint at the airport gates.]

Study hours are over at eleven. [This is not a man that pussyfoots his subjects.] Who are you?

[Ammy pauses to put her books on the floor and pulls out a notebook, before writing in quick, neat handwriting:]

"I sleep outside. I attend school here."

[clawsofawoman]

[Javert peers at the note, a frown on his face. He fixes a lengthy stare on Ammy.]

... Indeed.

[He finally concedes. There's only so much he can glean from a glimpse at any man or woman. Oftentimes it takes him quite a long time of recollection to organize all of the information.]

Then you are well provided for outside? [His lip curls.] Guarded.

[She doesn't like how he's staring, but puts up with it for the moment. She doesn't think he'd be able to catch her if she ran off as a wolf anyway, but there was no need to antagonize the man. When he speaks, she nods.]

"I have a shelter outside. It is not far; you can see it from the window."

[She gestures to it.]

[Eyebrow. Javert glances out the window to take a good look at her shelter.]

Inside the gates, then, [he murmurs to himself.] Are you low on any supplies?

[mirroredink]

[Ammy smiles.]

"I am well provided for, thank you."

[clawsofawoman]

Then take care.

[He turns away, proceeding onwards to the next door and allowing her to go. Though he gives a pause and a quick tap against his clipboard.]

Oh-- And if you have need of security tonight, I will be in the dormitory halls. You may call me Javert.
