Images filled Velma's mind. A mind that was tired for many reasons, and barely awake as her eyes fluttered open. She grew more awake as images began to make sense to Velma, they were systems of a human body, a male body. Which didn't make any sense, why would a male body be touching her this early in the morning. Before she had any coffee, or was awake, or was out of her bed. She moved something off of herself and sat up a little, the images fading from her eyes with the orange light of her powers ( ... )

By nature Thomas wasn't a light sleeper, and he'd had plenty of experience with different reactions to being woken up next to. 'Hello, tiger' and the like were common, but then so was jumping up and running around looking for clothes. 'Jinkies', on the other hand, was a new one.

"Morning, sweetheart," he drawled lazily, stretching. The motion pulled the sheet down, exposing a torso and hips with far too much muscle definition for someone who lived off coffee, beer, and pizza, and Thomas ran a hand through his hair as he watched Velma scramble. "Where's the fire?"

"I-I have to get back to the school, get changed, showered, make sure I don't smell like physical activities no matter how enjoyable the were at the time, would be rather noticeable to several members of the staff and student body," Velma scrambled around finally finding her panties, sliding them on under the oversized shirt. Her voice raced as she moved, scrambling. The panic probably being their activities finally registering in her mind. Her mind rambling thoughts as they came, and not registering them immediately, otherwise some of that commentary might have been censored ( ... )

Looking bemused, Thomas watched Velma scramble some more, her words somehow coming faster than her motions. There was laughter in his voice, but also a certain confusion. "You could shower here, I don't mind," he pointed out. "You don't have to run out like the cops are going to come in at any moment."

The mention of the skirt made Thomas cast his eyes about until he spotted the garment, slung carelessly halfway behind a lamp. He stood up, comfortably naked, and padded over the sea of wrinkled clothing to liberate the skirt. "Here it is," he said, dangling it from a finger. "I think I tossed it after you started screaming," Thomas added helpfully.

Velma had managed to return to school, and to her dorm, with enough time to at least clean up and change before classes. She didn't do much to hide her return this morning from the school's security set-up. Opting for speed over stealth. Trying to map a path into the school without getting caught was near impossible. There were two telepaths, and who knows how many ex military on base that would be able to catch her ( ... )

Stepping out of their shared bathroom, Temari gave a once over to her roommate. Walking over to her bed she stared at Velma. "Where were you last night?" Not that she really cared, but Velma had never stayed out all night like that before. If she had then it was probably on days Temari fell asleep first.

Her eyes also couldn't help but notice the hickey Velma was sporting. "And what happened to your neck?"

"I went to a party," Velma did her best to play this as cool as she could, which so long as she didn't think too much on what happened. Giving herself any vivid mental imagery to react to, "It got cold and I felt it was safer to ride home in the morning instead of last night." She closed the door, dropped her bag in the corner and plugged her necklace to recharge. Then off came her jacket and sweatshirt. Which lead to a view Velma's shirt, and its missing three buttons, more signs to what Velma was trying not to talk about.

Then came the question about her neck, "There was a young man at the party..." she blushed trying to play this as discretely as possible, "He and I-" There was absolutely no way Velma could think to word this safely, so she decided to shift the subject rather drastically to something far more utilitarian, "Have you used the shower already? I could use one before classes."

Raising an eyebrow at the explanation Velma gave her, she couldn't help but think something was off about it. The only thing...she knew exactly what was off about it. It would have been pathetic for her not to notice it, all things considered. "Uh huh. So...What's his name."

Rolling onto her back, she stretched out to stare at the ceiling. It had bee far too long since she just got to relax like this. Rolling her head off the side of the bed, she watched Velma from an upside down view. "I'm sure you could." There was a knowing tone in her voice, an idiot could tell what Velma did last night. "Is he a student~"

Alice was an insatiably curious young woman, ridiculously nosy, and annoyingly persistent. When she managed to hear about certain things, rumors or not, somehow (and perhaps that was really her mutant power after all) she would get to the bottom of the truth and the lies and find out the real story. It would help when her visions were precise down to the last detail - a rare thing, but Alice always appreciated it when it happened.

It would probably explain why she was waiting in Velma and Temari's dorm after classes that day, sitting on the edge of Velma's bed and flipping through a haute couture fashion magazine. She looked rather comfortable in her oversized, off-the-shoulder sweater, leggings, and slouchy boots, but there was a small expectant smile on her face that just...didn't quite proclaim total innocence.

Velma reached the door and opened it, and that was not the girl she was expecting in her room at this juncture. This was not Alice's room, yet here she was. This either meant Alice had something to tell Velma, or Alice had something to ask her. The first being a rather harmless distraction from her studies and giving her a view of the social activities of the school.

The latter being a thing she would rather avoid right now.

The most noticeable change in Velma's clothes is that she was wearing a lightweight scarf around her neck, again. Of course this little disguise to her current physical status worked on everyone but Ms. Cullen. A rather unfortunate thing, but exactly the sort of change Velma herself would notice in her classmates. If there was a reason to look into it.

Now Velma had two options, pretend she has no idea what Alice is talking about, or come clean. "What do you want?" It was not exactly impolite a question for a person to ask someone who entered their room unannounced and uninvited.

If Alice was put off (and this being Alice, she certainly wasn't), she didn't show it. Instead, the moment the door swung open, her smile grew even brighter and she tossed the magazine further back onto on the bed and jumped to her feet with all the grace of an excitable dancer.

She said nothing for a moment or two until she finally exclaimed, "You know that I have to meet him now, right~?"

Again, the choice came between explaining and pretending she has no idea what Alice is talking about. However, Alice's quickness to jump in causes Velma to reflexively play uninformed. "Who are you referring to?"

It was again a fair question, entirely no reason for her to know what Alice was talking about until some details were mentioned. Hopefully none of these details would be explicit, that would be really unfortunate. Velma did turn a bit red, but she did her best to hide it by keeping busy. For starters the shirt with three missing buttons, stuffing it into a drawer and throwing the buttons in with it, that would keep her busy right now. As would making sure any other evidence was out of view.

Of course Velma's got the stealth and subtly of a rodeo clown when it comes to hiding personal matters. A part of her psychology which would probably prove problematic.
