Oh you better BELIEVE Yousuke started running the moment he saw what was going on. What the hell was she doing? Why? Picking a fight with that wolf idiot, he really didn't believe she'd been serious in the journal. When the fists and fur started flying on the webcam, that was when he saw this was way, way too real.

So, thankfully, he missed most of the fight, only arriving to catch the tail-end of it and see Riza, battered and bloody, limping over to turn the laptop off.

And you better bet he's terrified and pissed off beyond belief

"What the fuck are you doing?" he yelled, both at his damaged girlfriend and the white wolf he was seriously considering running over toward and finishing the job Riza started.

Oh hey, Yousuke was here. How did he find out about it? Whatever. Where this fight was concerned, Riza felt better than she looked. That shouldn't be much of a surprise, though. Keep swearing, she wouldn't feel remorse anytime soon. She reached up and wiped off the corner of her mouth with her good paw. "Defending my family's name."

Yes, Yousuke was there, and now it was time for Riza to behold him in all of his well and truly upset glory. "Defending your- have you looked at yourself? You could have been...!" He wasn't quite sure where this rage he was feeling was directed, but it was definitely there, and definitely growing.

"Yeah, I could've been killed or whatever," she shot back, more flippant than angry. "But I'm not. We're both fine. Stop getting pissed." Because that always worked. Sometimes she doubted her own ability to handle situations like this.

For some reason, Demyx had assumed a.) they wouldn't actually get into a serious fight and b.) that Riza had gotten in a full out brawl before anyway. From looking at the video, it looked like neither one of these were true. Demyx headed down to the grounds to find them, wondering if it was as bad as it looked. He hoped not.

He skidded to a halt nearby, to see... Yousuke actually looking pissed. Wow.

Yeah, he's pissed. And relieved. And upset. And really happy she won. And whole lot of other conflicting emotions that are threatening to push him to the brink right now.

"How can you just say that?" he demanded of Riza, "You could've been killed and you're acting like, like this is just some game or something?" Oh hell, he was downright livid now. "Why aren't you freaking out? W-why aren't you doing anything but just standing there?" He began to stomp over toward her, gesturing wildly the whole time, "Did you think what would happen if you did die? How I would feel, or your dad?" That was a low blow, and he knew it, but right now it didn't seem inappropriate.

That was it. He wanted a reaction, the only thing he had to do was mention her dad. She rose to her feet and met him halfway, getting right in his face and making sure he could hear every single word. "Do you think I knew that shit going in? I thought this was going to be a different kind of fight, and then that... fucker started going for my throat!" If looks could kill, Kiba would be dead right now. "My heart's still pounding out of my fucking chest. I didn't want to beat the shit out of him. I had to, unless you and Dad and everybody I care about never wanted to see me alive again." Shit. Her breath caught after that sentence. She had to keep herself together. Her eyes, filled with fear, stayed fixed on him as she took a moment to breathe. "So yeah, Yousuke. It crossed my fucking mind."

"Guys, calm down," Demyx said, quietly but loud enough to be sure they heard as he walked a little closer. "Riza didn't die, both their injuries probably look worse than it is, and I don't think anyone would have thought it would have gotten this serious." This was a high school, after all, though the mutant part apparently did make a difference besides classes.

"Seriously, though. Calm down. Riza, the higher your heart rate the more blood is being pumped and the more you're losing through cuts. You can yell at each other later."

Alfred showed up as soon as he got tired of waiting for a reply, which wasn't that long, really. He wasn't sure what he was going to do now that he was here, but this didn't really stop him. At least it seemed like he wasn't the only one there, and Riza was healthy enough to be yelling.

"What the hell were you doing?"

Demyx may have succeeded in calming Yousuke down, maybe, if Riza hadn't just let loose with that tirade. Al, being Al, didn't really do much to settle him, though.

Having her right in his face was pushing Yousuke's fear up further, but thanks to a lot effort, most of which came from her own hand, he'd actually grown enough of a spine to keep his still and his eyes locked with her own. "You should have just ran off the second you saw he was playing serious!" he insisted, "Defending yourself, yeah, I got no problem with that, but you should have bailed right when it became obvious that prick isn't playing around." He was lecturing her, and knew it was probably a terrible idea, but goddammit, Yousuke loved her, and letting her go get herself killed for pride's sake just wasn't something he could live down.

He took a few deep breaths, trying to force his own fear down, and tried again, "Look, just... you scared the shit out of me. All that wolf stuff, the- the fighting for the alpha position place, whatever, it's not worth getting ( ... )

"And let my family go down as cowards?!" That was completely the wrong thing to say, and Riza knew it. But it was the one thing she latched on to and she wasn't about to let it go that easily. "It doesn't work like that." Hearing Demyx's words, she tried to calm down. She backed away from Yousuke, from everybody, and returned to leaning against the tree. After a controlled breath, she continued. "If I tried to run away, he would have killed me. I wouldn't have gotten three steps." She'd gotten in way over her head and she knew it. But if it were as easy as walking away, she would have done it.

She wanted to keep on talking to Yousuke, to say that she agreed and that stupid dick-waving competitions weren't worth dying over, but a jolt of pain shot through her arm. She winced and clutched the wound. "Al, Demyx. Find Kill Master. He should be close." He'd be able to patch her up. And Kiba, too. If he had to.

"Right." Kill Master. He couldn't be too hard to find. Demyx headed off, looking for the school 'nurse.'

Well, damn. When she put it that way, it did make some sense. Adrenaline pulsing, heart-pounding, it was hard for Yousuke to keep entirely coherent and try to think up a decent reply to that outburst. "Does it really matter that much if some jackass thinks you're a coward?" he said, walking right after her when she backed off, "You shouldn't have even come down if you were expecting a fight, it-"

He cut himself off. Insulting her was just a stupid idea right now. She was hurt, really emotional, and probably not any more happy with herself than he was with her. "It doesn't matter, you did what you thought you had to, and..." Kill Master? Why'd she want him? Dammit, nothing made sense anymore.

Alfred nodded and followed Demyx, taking a higher road to give him a better view of everything around him.

Once Al and Demyx ran off, Riza sat down against the tree and raised her paw above heart level to slow the bleeding. Who said she never paid attention in Anatomy? With a pointed look at Yousuke, she explained. "You didn't hear the whole thing. He talked to me like I wasn't worth his time, just because I'm a girl." She scowled and fought back a growl, knowing that if she pushed herself like that, she wouldn't feel any better anytime soon. "Even if my family wasn't involved, I couldn't back down from that." She didn't expect him to understand why. There were some things that you just didn't say to anyone, and that was one of them.

"It's not what I thought I had to do. It's what I had to do." To keep herself and her pride alive. Mostly herself. "Kill Master's a healer," she said, picking up on his confusion. "I'm pretty sure he's already heard about this." Everybody had already heard about it, apparently.

Soon enough the bassist came as he looked at the scene.

"You kids are dumbasses."
