After many weeks of collaboration and hard work,
kaidevis and I are pleased to present the official press release and flyer for Metaphysics, Mysticism, & Magick 101 (M3-101). Please share any and all of this post with whomever you think may find it of interest. Please note that there will be a definite online aspect to M3-101, so those outside the Pacific NorthWest may join us, too.
Many great things will be coming from this, not the least of which is the infamous Fenwick K. Rysen coming out of his 4+ year seclusion, along with the Chaos Matrix (that's "chaosmatrix.org", not ".com") website that
still gets an average of 10,000 unique hits per month, after 4 years of not being touched.
No Longer.
Check the official website of
ChaosMatrix.org, and see what's going on with the updates on ChaosMatrix. Re-read those classics in the library, one more time. See what's going on with M3-101. We will have additional notes, charts, tables, links, and sources for the various topics we will be covering.
There is much more to come. Keep checking back on the
M3-101 page to see what's going on. We'll see you there.
For Release 2006.07.10
Salem, Oregon - A new discussion group delving into all topics esoteric, pagan, and occult will be starting at Maiden, Mother, & Crone on Tuesday, August 1st at 6:30pm. The group and talk, "Metaphysics, Mysticism, & Magick 101," is open to all. Hosts Fenwick Rysen and Xi O'Teaz will give brief half-hour overviews of different weekly topics leading to the 7:00 open discussions. The twelve class topics (subject to change) are "Meditation & Trance States" (Aug. 1), "Magick & Shamanism" (Aug. 8), "Mysticism & Nondualism" (Aug. 15), "Energywork" (Aug. 22), "Divination & Synchronicity" (Aug. 29), "Spirits & Gods" (Sep. 5), "Psychic Phenomena" (Sep. 12), "Eastern Paths" (Sep. 19), "Cosmology & Three Realms" (Sep. 26), "Correspondences & Sympathy" (Oct. 3), "Power Points & Times" (Oct. 10), and "Metamodels & Paradigms" (Oct. 17). Each class runs from 6:30-7:00 preceding the open discussion.
Fenwick Kaidevis Rysen is a chaos magician best known for the encyclopedic Chaos Matrix website, creation and promotion of the Fotamecus egregore-creation workings, and his current work on a theory of integral magick as a metamodel uniting all magickal systems. A proponent of experiential practice over armchair theorizing, he advocates an approach of open skepticism and bold personal experiment. Fenwick has his degree in Information Technology and has worked as a web programmer, a custom corsetry shop proprietor, a loan analyst, and a winery cellarmaster, among other odd things. Fenwick blogs at
http://kaidevis.livejournal.com/info and emails from fenwick@chaosmatrix.org.
Xi O'Teaz ("Coyotes") has been Practicing various forms of Magick and Mysticism since he can remember. His primary goal is to explore human potential in all of its infinite manifestations, which he sums up in his dictum to "Know Thy Selves". Xi has been published in various magazines, and is currently working on Teaching classes. Mr. O'Teaz has his degree in Psychology and Philosophy, with an emphasis in Comparative World Religions, and currently works as a Child and Adolescent Treatment Specialist in a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility. Xi's blog is at
http://xi-o-teaz.livejournal.com, and he can be reached at xi_o_teaz@chaosmatrix.org.
The discussion group is drop-in with a $3-10 sliding scale donation requested. Maiden, Mother & Crone is located in historic downtown Salem at 155 Liberty St. NE, Salem, Oregon 97301; phone (503) 363-3375.
