Turkey Burgers

May 29, 2008 13:55

In accordance with my Operation 4 Health (and therefore, my BBold Working), I have tried yet another recipe. This was more based off my ever-developing "Culinary Intuition", so I was naturally pretty nervous. I just made some turkey burgers as follows, in order of amount:

Ground Turkey Meat
Costco's Organic No-Salt Seasoning (w/ 21 spices)
Chopped Garlic
Chopped Red Onion
Freshly ground black pepper
Crushed red pepper flakes

I almost mixed in some Worcestershire sauce, but I wanted to try this more "bare-bones" formula, first. I also almost added in an egg or two, but recalling that my mother did that with regular hamburgers when I was a kid, I never really liked them that much (but maybe that was because they were bland and made from crappy hamburger meat, too). I can always add more to the remaining 5 patties leftover after I cooked the test burger. I garnished the test burger about as plain as I could, so I could focus on the flavor of the meat itself. I know I'm bragging when I say it was damn good. Yum!

I'd have never imagined cooking good, healthy food at home could be so rewarding!
