Tried out Level Sync last night. First thoughts? Oh boy I'm going to have so much fun. We played for a few hours, managed to get our main Sync'd character I think 5 levels, while the rest of us got 1-2 levels (including a 72-73WHM level up). General feeling about this feature is good. I'll be able to level with friends and family when they log on rather than sitting there trying to figure out what job could I gear up which won't have to rely on some other job to be in the party.
So now to some technical stuff. Like many people have seen, the drop on stats is fairly nasty. There was a point last night where hitting was a big issue for me. Sure sushi would have fixed that, but sushi in Qufim. Today though I noticed something strange. I went to play wound in the Dunes. I switched my Swift Belt to Life Belt (in hope of getting at least a little bit of the +Acc). To my surprise I gained 7 Attack where it should have only been 5 Attack (due to the -5 Attack on Swift Belt). So at Lv14 (36 levels lower then normal use) Swift Belt gives -7 Attack.
I wonder when people will figure out the formula for these changes. I don't believe that SE went through every item and applied stats per level, there has to be some sort of bell shape curve where the closer to the level the lower the adjustment. It just seems strange how they reduce the positive stats, and further increase the negative stats (I think I put that the right way, I just can't think at the moment).
