should the berlin wall have a proper memorial? yesterday sent me over to the "documentation center" for the berlin wall. There i watched a movie filmed sometime in the year 1989, right after the fall of the wall. parts were missing and makeshift boardercrossings had been installed. the flight around the gated cited lasted one half hour, and did not complete the ring. the commentary was lacking. then i walked upstairs to the free exhibit. too small, too little information. the top of the building houses a lookout to the other side of the street where the wall once stood. they have built a fake version of what used to be there, filled with photographing tourists inside the death strip. not really what i was looking for, but the view over the rest of the city was worth while.
then i got sick and went home.
lotta, my swedish roomate, had a going away party, as she will be on a train in a few hours, heading to gothenburg. my apartment feels alonely. and me too.
