So I was thinking of writing something...

It's kind of my own kink meme fill. And part of me would actually request it in there but every time it comes to mind there's a request freeze. I am too slow to get to request blaaargh.

So I am thinking of filling my own request. But you see, there's one very important thing I cannot decide on. It's very important to me and has been causing me a ( Read more... )

I think this idea is adorable! I would totally read this. Dooo it.

Grated cheese is pretty cute, but something about Noususuhdanne almost sounds like a magic spell.

I should do it. Eventually. I'm going to let it float around in my head for a little bit longer, though.

Best crossover everrr - I would totally read this!

I really like the sound of Jymähdellä, but Pöytälamppu just strikes me as a name Finland would pick out, hah.

Would the owl be a boy or a girl?

The owl would be a girl. I still haven't decided. It's weird, the things I choose to get hung up on. Thanks for your input. :)

Oh my god, this idea sounds awesome! I think Grated Cheese would be just on par with Finland's naming scheme. And there's no shame in filling your own ideas :3

Completely irrelevant, but I kind of always imagined that Finland would be a Ravenclaw or Slytherin. Maybe it's because my headcanon of him is a combination of cute charm and that slight insanity and cold precision from winter war!Fin.

OMG, I didn't even consider Slytherin! Slytherin!Finland. Oh god. I think you've changed my mind. xD

I'm still undecided about the name. STILL UNDECIDED. How much thought goes into something so simple asjkdhakd.

UPDATE: I FOUND A NAME. IT IS EVERYTHING I HOPED FOR AND MORE.

I am very happy. It's the little things. <3

Really? Wow, well, uh, sorry? xD

And little details like that are important! For one story I wrote I got completely hung up on what parks there are in Sweden and which one the two would go to for a day. (And then I ended up devoting all of one paragraph to the trip to the park. Oops!) Methinks the name of a pet owl would be much more important.

Are you me?
I literally have two pages of notes regarding this exact story saved on my desktop right now.

I put Finland in Hufflepuff because he has the same insane ideas as one of my friends who is a Hufflepuff. Also I think he'd like living right next to the kitchens.

REALLY?! WRITE IT. NAO!!! *flail*

I don't have any notes. I don't have anything beyond Fin's owl's name.

Fin would like living next to the kitchens, wouldn't he? Hmm. IDK, I see him in a lot of houses. I think he will be a Slytherin in my (maybe happening?) story because that just amuses me.

XD I always write a ton of notes before I write anything. Fara i Viking has like 5 pages.

I think Finland would be best in either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. But I could also see him in Griffindor. Though the idea of him in Slytherin is amusing, I don't really see him as ambitious or cunning. (And I'm a Slytherin myself, but much as I'd love to have him in my house I don't really see much Slytherin in him.)

I think Finland is a flexible character: he's kind and timid, but can turn badass in an instant. The first part belongs to Hufflepuff, but the sort of attitude shift--the fact he's really tougher than he acts all along--it's kind of a bit cunning? Intelligent ( ... )

If I may leave my two cents about houses (again), I envision Finland as a Slytherin because he can be pretty damn charming and manipulative if he wants to, is a secret badass if he needs to be, and (in my favorite interpretations of him, at least) sometimes has a screw or two loose but not enough that he's really insane, but just enough for him to have a degree of cold precision that's almost creepy. In other words, he's so versatile because he's sneaky and cunning xD

For Sweden and Denmark, I'd imagine houses depending on the order they're sorted (especially if they started out knowing each other). Denmark would definitely be Gryffindor, while Sweden strikes me as having Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff qualities. But if Denmark gets sorted first, Sweden would most definitely choose anything but Gryffindor.

Norway strikes me as firmly Slytherin, while I personally would put Ice into Hufflepuff for the lolz just because out of the Nordics, I seem to have the most trouble naming a unique defining quality for him.

Of course you can throw in your two cents! Different opinions are so good. Gets me thinking about all the options! I love that.

I'm almost 100% sure that Fin is going to be Ravenclaw with Berwald. I've had some really cute ideas with the fact they're in the same house. But now that I say that, I changed my mind. I guessss... I'll just write two different scenes and see which I like the most. xD

Ice is a Ravenclaw, but I can see him not wanting to be in the same house as Norway because they get confused for one another and Ice doesn't like that. He's independent, damn it.

But I can definitely see your point about Norway as a Slytherin. I'm going to go fart around in MS word for a bit.

Norway -> 1st yr Slytherin, Ice & Fin -> 1st yr Ravenclaw, Sve-> 2nd yr Ravenclaw, Den -> 2nd yr Gryffindor is where I am right now.

FFF-Fin is the worst Ravenclaw ever. Tossing that idea out. I think he's Slytherin again now.

I am so wishy washy. I don't make notes because I change my mind like a million times before I settle on something. *sigh*

xD For some reason your comment about Finland being the worst Ravenclaw made me crack up. I'm imagining some serious magical mishaps now!

And judging by your other stories, what you eventually settle on works out quite well, so wishy washy or not, your method must be right :D
