Disneyland!

Wooo! Back to Disneyland today, with Katrena! It'd been over a month - I was starting to suffer withdrawls!

The park was DESERTED. Like, quite possibly one of the most deserted days I've ever seen. I couldn't help but grin everytime we passed the tip board and virtually every ride wait on the list said "5 minutes." We did pretty much everything major in both parks at least once... and we didn't get there til after noon and left before six!

The new Monsters Inc ride is spiffy! Some cool effects in there. Roz talked to me and Katrena, and I was all "WTF?!"
Roz: Young lady, in the back row!
*Kirsten stares blankly in shock*
Roz: Are you twins?
Kirsten: Yes?
Roz: ...whatever.
So. Freakin'. Cool. I think my biggest bone to pick with the ride, though, is that it just goes to fast. You get breezed by all the plot points before you can figure out what's happening. Other than that, it's a cute little ride! Boo is, of course, adorable.

Characters were out in full force... playing the all-too-familiar "I'm bored!" routines. When we got there, Max was just coming out on set, doing some kind of funky dance while the Disneyland Band played. Al and Jas were out in front of the train station. Al was quite cute... alas, when I went up to meet him, it also became clear that he's not into girls. DOH! :P Mickey was even bored over at DCA. I walked right up to give him a hug! And Pluto was animating VERY well over there - I was proud of that puppy!

And OMG, I swear, there's a Stargate-looking thingy in Space/Rockit Mountain! When we were riding Space Mountain today, I kept squinting through the dark trying to get a peek at the Rockit Mountain setup. Can't see much, 'cause it's so dark in there and you're moving so fast. But for those who know the Space Mtn layout, it's right around the drop (the only real "drop" of any consequence on the track). I wanna say it's right after. It's totally set up like a Stargate around the track. XD A bit thin-looking, but the idea cracks me up none the less. How appropriate is that?

Oh, and also, from the "stupid stuff that's only newsworthy to total Disneyland dorks" files, the bamboo pole is currently missing entirely from the Indiana Jones queue. :( The rat room effect sucked more than usual - you couldn't even tell the projection was there. The snake's mouth didn't pop open. There was no strobe flash on the rolling boulder. That ride is such a marvel, but it just can't keep it together...

Me and Pluto!!

For the Aladdin nuts... me and Aladdin!!! :D Oh, and that Jasmine chick, too.

I know. My Buzz score is shameful. I await my punishment for my measly 172k. But my gun shot at a funny angle! I swear!

As usual, all photos from the day up here. Only a few this time, though, and nothing really special 'cause we just kinda wandered from one ride to another and I mostly didn't bother with picture-taking.

We also had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe... YUM! To drink, I had their banana-whatever-it's-called that's basically a mudslide with banana bits. It was SO FREAKIN' GOOD. I want another one.

In honor of Disneyland, loser!Mickey from last April now makes an appearance in my icon collection. Best. Mickey. Ever.

On a totally unrelated note, this link came across TotalFark this morning, and had me rolling on the floor:
1990 World of Nintendo Catalog, now with new hilarious captions!
(I think I still have that 1990 Nintendo Calendar somewhere...)
