i Ellie, It is possible and even likely that the memories are real as
when children can't deal with something they push it down and try to
forget. The memory can then stay in the subconscious for many years
until something triggers the memory and it comes back as a flashback.
This can feel really frightening when the memory comes back and can also
feel very confusing when you doubt your memories too. You can access
support to help you to work through these memories from your local rape
crisis centre. To find your closest one I have copied you a link
below. There is also another organisation in Birmingham if our centres
are too far for you to travel too. All you would need to do is to ring
and ask to make an appointment to see a counsellor and then you can work
with your counsellor to uncover these memories and ensure that they
don't affect your life in the future. If there is anything else you
need please let me know. Warm regards, Kay

I feel a lot better though right now, have the past 2 days. Exercise is helping a lot. I'll keep this for reference though as I know things may get hard again. I thanked the lady through email reply.
