My WIP and I are going through issues right now. We are working them out...separately...and currently not on speaking terms. I don't know how long we're going to glare at each other from across the room. The WIP isn't dead to me, per se, but he's on life support at the moment. It had to be said. I, too, have a vampire novel in the works that I still hope will see the light of day - and I'm enforcing that "NO DRINKING FROM ANIMALS!" rule with an iron fist. My anti-hero is an amoral ex-Celtic warrior who works as a bartender (because he likes the hours, and his wicked-fast reflexes get him good tips), has a mad crush on Christian Slater, and smokes like a chimney. He's a good guy most of the time, but he does kill people.

All my vampires do not drink animal blood. They drink from humans--they just have a Code that forbids killing said humans. Not that they all follow it...

Also, the relationship between the mortal girl and vampire boy borders on an abusive relationship...I mean, the vampire tells the girl right after she learns he's a vamp that he's going to kill her. Just doing my part to make vampires evil again!

haha - aren't we all? Hey, you're a follower of Cleolinda, right? I remember her saying that with Twilight, if they'd played up the abusive part of the relationship as kinky, rather than super-romantic, it would have been much cooler.

Yes I am and I saw that. By the time I did, I already had the relationship planned out. It did make me happy to see that from her, though. :)
