Today might have been one of the last sunny days before the Seattle rains start, so I figured I should record some ukulele. Here's an old folk song, "Yellow Bird". It always makes me happy to play it.

My back was killing me after working on the pre-remodel phase in the downstairs bathroom. The gave me an excuse to do some playing on the ukulele, messing with legos and clay, etc. Yo ho!

I and my family spent last weekend at the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop Spring retreat. It is the laid back jam session of the event series and despite "guitar" figuring in the name, any string instruments (and a few other folksy acoustic instruments) were appropriate. So I'm driving to work with the radio on when this raspy effeminate crooning comes out of the speakers. Not terrible, mind you, but not what I like either. I was about to change the station when... I figured out the chords to '39 on ukulele. There are guitar tabs online, but it's unsingable (by me) in that key. I transposed it and fiddled around with the interstitial bits.
