I don't know, as I am posting this, if I will be able to complete the entry. My laptop says its heat sinks are 45 and 60 degrees C, the GPU is 72 degrees, and the keyboard itself is about the temperature of a ceramic cup holding a freshly poured cup of tea. Today is the hottest day on record in Seattle.
Yep. It'll be the hottest week too, as far as I know, though the measurements are still coming in. It's 102 in Seatac. At my house it's only 99 degrees. I have martha lake weather station here and, though not on the internet currently, it is recording some record temperatures. It's 108 degrees in my kitchen cabinet, for example, but there's a computer in there so it's unnaturally hot. In the rest of the house it's only 94.
I know; It's not as hot as it is in Florida or Arizona most of the time. Even in Missouri it gets hotter than this. The hottest day I can recall was when I was a boy in Missouri. On day during the summer we took a drive out to get some hens to replenish the chickens in our coop. We picked out some funny looking, so I thought at the time, Polish Hens. It was a very hot day and I could barely stand to be inside my father's truck to go get them. He told me it was "120 in the shade" and, not knowing that was an old saying, I thought it must be literally true. It certainly seemed that way, but whatever the actual temperature, it was the hottest day I can remember. 102 is pretty hot for Seattle though.
