Wizard World Philly!!

Guys, you've gotta see some of this stuff. Philly was a blast!

Interrobang Studios went to Wizard World Philadelphia this weekend. We had a booth in the artist alley, met some new friends, saw some awesome costumers, and got to give a copy of our WatchBabies parody to GARTH ENNIS. (ohgod!<--fangirl fit.)

Kevin manned the booth when I wandered off to hunt TMNT back issues.

He did a number of commissions for people this weekend: Supergirl, Superman, Zatana, Teela from Masters of the Universe, Megaman, Brittany from Alvin & the Chipmunks' Chippettes, DeadPool, a matching set of Nick Fury's (Ultimate & Classic), and of course, SQUIRREL GIRL with MONKEY JOE. (She's taken out Galactus, Doctor Doom, Thanos, and just about everybody else. Don't be triflin'.)

We met some Spartan studs and their token girl. She was a real good sport about stepping out of the other pictures I took. ;)

The OTHER picture I took. We showed them this strip, they laughed and posed for us. Good times.

Evil Lyn won for BEST LEATHERWORK by any standards.

There was this awesome Steampunk guy who came buy the table with goggles he'd MADE HIMSELF. No, really. Look at them. Lust for them.

He said he was taking a fashion design class and used that to justify the expense of crafting them. I think they look sinister and therefore did not require any justification at all.

His fire? Made out of HOT GLUE. All of it. Not 'Hot Glue on a Framework,' JUST hot glue.

These awesome gentlemen were our next door neighbors in the row of booths. Mike draws, colors, and writes his own pulp comic: "Jungle Women Vs. Dracula." His awesome friend James came along to help him man the booth. Their costumed friends showed up later in the con. Wonder Woman met with high marks, as you can see.

The aforementioned James has excellent taste in women, and commissioned Kevin to draw him a Zatana sketch. "Eivg niveK lla ruoy yenom." Oh, witchy woman! If we give Kevin all our money, we will not be able to feed ourselves! Zatana also met with high marks.

As we drove through Philly to stay with a long-time friend of Kevin's (and a new-found friend of mine), we passed the Divine Lorraine Hotel which is AWESOME, rundown, nearly gutted, and was most recently used as a homeless shelter back in 1999. Our hostess was 100% pure WONDERFUL. Thank you, Val! We have to hang out again soon. :)

We had a great time! We sang karaoke! I found BodyCount #1! And, best of all, the studio made back the cost of the table, the con passes, the gas money, and three days' worth of parking with enough left to make a serious dent in the cost of inventory.

We're on our way, right?

I don't think we've got a convention appearance in July, but I'm working on it. Maybe something local?
