Forwarding a beta request
I'm re-posting this from fyreworks'. She's in the process of making a Story With Plot and needs a beta. So anyone HP inclined out there who thinks they might fit the bill, please get a hold of her so I can play in her sandbox with Viktor and East European magic, wheee!.
Story Title: Mugwumps & Mysteries (First Novella, other 2 titles TBA)
Fandom: Harry Potter, Post HBP
Genre: Action/Adventure
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Eventual scenes of violence, not explicitly graphic. Minimal to no swearing.
Pairings: None.
Main Character(s): Cho Chang
Story Summary: Cho Chang has two faces. The first is a shy, quiet perfectionist who works for the Ministry of Magic. The other is an intelligence officer of a secret Chinese faction, bent on preventing Voldemort's rise to power. As Cho gets more and more involved, she struggles with what is right, what is easy, and how to tell the difference.
Estimated Length: It's going to be 3 novellas, one over-arcing story. (*sigh*) Each chapter is about 3000-5000 words. From the Prologue to Chapter 6 of the first novella, I have about 30,000 words written. I'm heavier on the dialogue than on exposition, so it shouldn't take too long to read.
Notes/Requests: I'm planning on posting the story, but I haven't decided where yet. I'm going to wait until Part I is publishable, then I'll figure it out. I already have the lovely xenokattz as my overall plot/characterisation beta, so I would like someone who'll focus first on spelling, grammar and possibly Britishisms (I'm rather good with spelling, but commas are my enemy). After that, any and all concrit is welcome. And I actually mean that. Because if I can be blunt with other people's work, I expect I should be able to take it as well ;) I'm only looking for someone to beta the FIRST novella (12 chapters); you don't have to commit to any more than that if you can't/don't want to.
