Alive and Well, Super-Well Actually

I started to write a really long post since it has been about 6 weeks since I last posted anything here, having even received a couple of e-mails outside of LJ asking where I was, was I ok, why wasn't I posting- which was sweet and made me feel missed, everyone likes to feel missed...

So, I wrote back that I was fine, just busy- juggling balls and all, and would be back soon. Unfortunately, I have passed the point of no return, where it would take too much to record all that has gone on rather than just start anew. In effort to find a middle ground between the two, here is a brief synopsis of what's been going on.

Anal Cancer, let's hope not.
My pap returned "non-specific a-typical cells" and there were a few visible polyps, so yesterday I went under the knife for a biopsy. I'll get the results in two weeks. Anal cancer is rare, except in HIV+ men, and my practitioner said that most likely it is nothing, and surprisingly I am not really that worried. Yet another gift of HIV is a lack of existential fear...

Free of Aspect, yet more multi-faceted than ever.
Tuesday the 20th of June was my last day as an employee of Aspect Gallery and Custom Framing. When I gave notice (being an honorable man), I fully expected rending of garments, gnashing of teeth, and wails of anguish, but all I got was an un-emotional "ok." I ended up doing more framing in those last two weeks than I had all spring, with theboss as a shadow trying to learn how to frame since he hadn't framed anything in the last 18 months... I do not wish failure upon them, just that the universe delivers the appropriate karma upon them.

I Worked That Red Dress, and will now be known as sparkle-tits.
Last year I returned from the ALC with a busted knee and a blister on each ass cheek the size of my ego; this year, however, I rode every mile without injury and sans blisters. I could not have had a better time on the ride and can't wait to do it all over again. The biggest surprise on the ride this year was Eric, of bears going wild fame, showing up at Rest Stop 2 on Day 1. I had no idea he was going to be on staff this year and seeing his beautiful blue eyes was a joy to my bleary, road-weary eyes.

The Universe Delivers, and I am there.
600 sqft commercial studio space with a glass storefront for $520/mth on Polk and O'Farrell. Mine. Neelness has a new home. Besides utilizing the studio space to further myself as an artist, I'll also be able to use the studio space for window commissions (one already in stone, and another in the tentative stage). Also, I'll be offering artist and gallery services such as mounting and lite-framing, canvas stretching (esp. gallery wrapping), custom pedestal construction, installation services etc...

So there. Now that I am my own man, so to speak, I don't know if I'll have time to maintain a journal so this may be good bye, but who knows...
