yeah, I should probably update sometime soon...
Holiday luncheon with dept today at swanky restaurant. Luved the Ahi Tuna. Ate waaay too much. 3 filets with different toppings on each - garlic, cajun, and some sort of horseradishy cheese thing. Waaay good. And the triple chocolate fudge cake desert was a diabetic's worst nightmare but oooohhhh so good going down! mmmmmmm... :)
Lately been working on projects for work:
Daylight savings time fiasco. This is the Y2K of 2007. Our computers, VCR's, clocks, etc. are going to have fun next year when DST changes dates belatedly. (heh) I get to figure out what's going to happen to scheduled meetings on calendars that were:
1) scheduled before OS patch, 2) scheduled after OS patch, 3) repeating through DST leap, 4) sechuled before Calendar fix, 5) scheduled after Calendar fix... you get the idea. The permutations boggle the mind.
Goals doc. Kind of a self-assessment. I hate this the most, right up there with typical HR B.S. I'm logical, technical, I despise creative writing describing the effects my accomplishments had on the businesss. bleck.
Site DB audit. This I can do. auditing servers, histories, hardware, etc.

Lab server documentation
Ironport Spam, antivirus, content filtering. This stuff is cool along with the network architecture
Blackberry Team for mobile messaging
AMD Migration of Desplaines users to Lake County
Along with whatever else I forgot and my normal everyday admin tasks and remedy support. It's difficult not to become overwhelmed, but I multitask well.
In other news, I think we're going to http://www.meltingpot.com with Morten & Darin tomorrow eve for my bday. That'll be fun. I've been craving it ever since we went to the Ohio one with Bill & Nathan.
I'm intrigued by Parakey. It'll be the next craze out there after myspace, developed by the Firefox guys (cute!). pretty cool from what I've read so far. (http://www.spectrum.ieee.org/print/4696)
I just downloaded Misty's Secret World Chronicles (http://www.secretworldchronicle.com) so we'll see how those are... I just finished re-reading the Magic's series for the umpteenth time, but it's been so long that I had forgotten the ending! ha! The BF got the series in hardcover for me last xmas, so I figured I better at least read it before THIS xmas!! ;) Now I'm hooked and have to re-read the rest of my Valdemar books...
I had more, but my train of thought has been derailed. I need to d/l the latest ripper proggy and reboot, so 'snuff 4 now. :)
