Boredom, Katsucon, Dispatcher-Doug and Manning Sux
I've gone from incredibly busy to incredibly... ummm... not busy. For the past few weeks, I've done nothing but make decisions and write HTML code for Anime-Source stuff. Now that the Favorite Anime Series of 2006 Survey is done and published (see www.anime-source.com if you're interested) and my new staff has been hired and trained, I have not much to do anymore.
At least I have Katsucon to look forward to. I'm actually looking more towards hanging out with friends (Doug, Lupe and Eric... and Pete's staying with us too) than the actual convention. Playing with Eric's Wii-Wii all night (ewwwwwww... oh god no!...) in the hotel room and randomly walking around the con will be my biggest pleasure. Since it's a con, I'm gonna love taking photos and maybe interviewing some cosplayers for my website article. This year I can take video too, sweet. I'm also gonna have to hit the Dealers' Room for some MOHS, Shakugan no Shana, Inukami! and Galaxy Angel merch.
And in sad news, my journey to AnimeBoston may be compromised this year. It looks like getting the weekend will not be easy (at the best) or not possible at all (at the worst). I'm gonna talk to Sue in a few hours about gauging the possibilities since I'm sure Mary and the conops staff would like to know as far in advance as possible if I have to formally resign or not. At the least, I might be able to go in on Saturday as a press agent and just enjoy the convention for one day. It's too early to tell.
In more exciting (and up-in-the-air) news, my good friend Doug is applying for the open full-time dispatcher position. How cool it would be to have a friendly guy (and fellow anime fan) working here with me. I've been putting in plenty of good words for him in the meantime. He has the experience he needs to get in and since he is very well-organized (based on what I know from AnimeBoston), he has a good chance. I'm also told he was an Eagle Scout back in da day, haha. Of course, with AnimeBoston being troublesome for myself to attend, having both of us will cause quite the calamity. Oh well, we'll deal with things one item at a time for now.
Oh yeah, and Colts suck ass. Worst Super Bowl Evor... glad I only watch a third of it.
