Monday night, I saw Shiny Toy Guns at The Roxy.
Got there around 7pm. There was almost NOBODY there, which was surprising. There were two opening bands, the first one escapes my mind, but the second band was The Delta Fiasco which was a hardcore synth band that I fell in looovvee with. The synth dude looked like Bray from The Tribe, and made me giggle. However, their album isn't nearly as synthy as they are live which was disappointing.
Shiny Toy Guns came on at 9pm. The new girl, Sisely, is ok. Her voice is good on Frozen Oceans, but I don't know if she's good live. I was up close, but it was hard to hear her most of the time. In some of the old songs, she didn't even sing the female vocals. She looks like Posh Spice, too. I don't really like how she looks just like Carah Faye.. just because she isn't in the band anymore doesn't mean they have to dress someone up to look like her.
There wasn't a big intro. By the time they came on, there were more people in the club, but not many at all. I was up front the entire time with no trouble. I guess I thought a lot more people knew of and liked Shiny than they actually do.
They played:
Starts with One
Le Disko
Waiting
Stripped
Ricochet
Poison (New)
Rainy Monday
Love(New)
Rocketship
Don't Cry Out
You Are The One
They ended RIGHT at 9:55pm... which is incredibly odd. I've never been at a show before that ended at 10pm. They were good. I don't think many people like Sisely. Guess we'll see when the new album comes out.
