I was so stoked that they did a Beatles night! And it was a pretty good night. I want to vote, but I have sooo much homework to do. BAH. CONFLICT. :(
1. Syesha Mercado - "Got To Get You Into My Life" - I thought she did pretty good! She's really talented. She kind of reminds me of Nadia Turner from Season 4.
2. Chikezie Eze - "She's A Woman" - I dug it! I thought he did really, really well. He seems like a pretty groovy dude.
3. Ramiele Malubay - "In My Life" - Okay, I love her. And I love that she (very obviously) sang this for Danny. I didn't think it was as bad as Simon was making it out to be. It wasn't the best she could do, but it was still okay! I hope she stays. I really like her!
4. Jason Castro - "If I Fell" - I was swooning so bad over him when he was singing this! I totally disagree with Simon. I thought he did amazing. And I think I'm developing a huge crush on him. Nooooo. Not anotherrrr! He is really cute though. And his voice is wonderful. And fadsjklasdj eee.
5. Carly Smithson - "Come Together" - I didn't dig it. I dunno. It wasn't TERRIBLE. It was kinda cool, I guess. But I don't know, I wasn't feelin' it, dawg. And I don't like her very much, so that adds to it. I thought it was really lame that Simon compared her to Kelly Clarkson. It's Top 12. Save the "YOU'RE TOTALLY GONNA WIN LOLZ" for Top, like, 3.
6. David Cook - "Eleanor Rigby" - My mom crossed over to the dark side. She called me and told me she LOVED David's performance. UGHH. I really don't think that I'm letting my dislike of him affect my opinion of his talent TOO much. I mean, I even thought, "Dang, he looks really cute tonight." See?! I'm warming up to him! And I STILL didn't like it! :( It wasn't that bad, though. Listening to it again, it was okay. I liked it more than Carly's performance. That said, I thought Simon's comment about how "if it was a talent competition and not a popularity contest, [David] could win the whole thing" was WAYYY wrong. I mean...okay, first of all, the people Simon likes are the people that are getting through BECAUSE Idol is a popularity contest (I seriously don't get the hype with Carly! Or David Cook!). Secondly, WTF. I will grant that David is talented, but the most talented in the competition? I. Don't. Get. It. I am starting to REALLY get mad at Simon.
7. Brooke White - "Let It Be" - I love her. So much. She was amazing. And I love love love her.
8. David Hernandez - "I Saw Her Standing There" - I thought David was amazing. I don't know what was up with Simon tonight. He and I couldn't agree on ANYTHING. I really, really loved David's performance. And I really, really love David. Judges = silly. ;p
9. Amanda Overmyer - "You Can't Do That" - First, I would like to say that I thought she looked really pretty tonight! I loved how her hair was done. And I just think she is the coolest person ever. I didn't HATE the performance, but I didn't really like it. I think she's super-groovy. But I don't know. I'm torn. She isn't right for the competition. But I don't want her to go home. :(
10. Michael Johns - "Across The Universe" - Again, I COMPLETELY disagreed with Simon. I got CHILLS from Michael's performance. Not only do I LOVE this song, but I thought it was perfect for him. I love that he had a personal connection to it (even though that's really sad), and you could feel his emotion, and he was so amazing, and ughh. I love Michael Johns. To me, he is BACK. And I love it! But I'm really upset that the judges didn't agree! :(
11. Kristy Lee Cook - "Eight Days A Week" - Do I need to say anything? I actually feel sorry for her. She seriously thought that her performance would be a good idea. I mean. Just. Like. Wow. Well...she had a good run, right? XD I won't miss her too much. Gosh, that's mean. I'm sorry. But come on.
12. David Archuleta - "We Can Work It Out" - Awww. That's really all I have to say. Just...awww. Okay, he forgot some of the words. Okay, it was kind of...not...perfect. I still love him. Everyone messes up every once in a while. EVERYONE. So I'll let this slide and hope to GOD that he does better next week. (But, of course, at his worst, he still did pretty good. He was, at the very least, much better than Kristy Lee. I guess that's not saying much, but STILL.)
Ohhh Idol.
Okay, I seriously have to finish my homework now. I'll post sometime soon and let you dudes know about my new classes (Spring Term started up on Monday). They seem to be pretty nifty so far. So yay! Alrighty, I hope you all have a nifty week! Bye for now!
