Magnitude 5.4 earthquake occurred in eastern Illinois, almost on the Indiana border. Woke me up at 5:37am. It shook our apartment for a good 5-10 seconds. For a brief second I thought it was just a strong wind, but it was definitely more intense than that.
Having experienced Southern California earthquakes, this still made me nervous. It even woke Becky up, and she's rather difficult to wake up at 5:30 in the morning. I was ready to duck under a doorframe and everything, 'cuz I'm crazy like that.
