This is what my journal's turned into. Quick short blurbs. Well, it's either this or I don't post at all... hmmmm.
- I lol'd in my truck. I was behind a school bus, and it stopped to drop off the kiddies. The only problem? There were sprinklers drenching the area where the bus stopped. Apparently, the bus driver refused to deviate from where the stop was supposed to be. I got a kick out of watching the mommies gathered across the street, looking very aggrieved and staring daggers of disapproval at the driver. The kids, for their part, seemed to enjoy splashing around as they got off the bus. Heh.
- What do you get when you take Nine Inch Nails, The Human League, Queensrÿche, and Elastica, and you mix them up into a new band? You get Shiny Toy Guns, a band that leapt outta my XM radio to grab me by the eardrums and not let go. I realize they're not exactly new, but man do I like 'em. It cracks me up that a lot of review sites call them an "electronic-rock-synth-retro" band. I guess that means I'm old if that's considered retro. "You Are the One" is my fave so far.
- Why the hell haven't my servicewide exam scores been released yet? Damn near every other IT1 who took the test has their raw score. Last year, I got my score by May 17. This waiting is killing me.
- Talladega Nights sucked. Over the Hedge was great. I haven't seen any blockbuster summer movie yet, and I don't know if I'll bother this year. The wait time to DVD release is now about 3 months (witness 300: released in mid-March, it's gonna be on DVD the first week of July). Okay, wait... maybe I'll go Knocked Up and Transformers. Maybe.
- Global Dimming. Never heard of it until today. Fascinating....
- North Korea is a fucked up place.
- This Memorial Day weekend is going to be full of work. Becky and I are going to re-arrange our bedroom and our office, moving the TV and stereo to the office/guest room, and moving our 2 computers and desks to the bedroom. That way Mom can watch TV and DVDs in relative peace and quiet, and Becky and I can play WoW at all hours of the night if we want. Right.
And that's it. I want to start doing the LJ thing more often, but not being able to access it at work really puts a damper on it. So I'll try harder.
-Charlie
gonna check for my raw score one more time...
