I'm not sorry that I'm concerned about my sister's safety while I'm driving. I went to pick her and her friends up tonight and asked her to put her seat belt on and take her feet off the dashboard. I put emphasis on that last past as my friend's mother got into a car accident years ago and got badly injured. Her back and neck are pretty damaged and she can't lift heavy things anymore. Accidents are not planned, they always come when you're not expecting anything until that very moment. I've been in a few before. Also, I've been pulled over for stupid things like headlights and cracked windshields but I really am not too concerned with that. That's just an annoying inconvenience. So, I called up mi madre and she just kept telling me it didn't matter and to just drive and that she'd deal with it when we got home. I said she wouldn't and they haven't. I'm the one that had to hear it and am "making mountains out of molehills and I'm not going to get into an accident." Yeah, like I intentionally get into accidents and have control over that no matter how much attention I pay to what the other idiots are doing on the road.
During I-CON 30, driving down Nicholls road at night, I watched some guy speed through a light that's been red (for them) for a few seconds then stop in the middle of the road in front of me in the left lane and back up to where they should have stopped. There was a cop a few blocks behind me but they were busy giving somebody else a ticket. I couldn't believe what I was watching. I'm really glad nobody was approaching that light already when it turned green or they would've been smashed.
When she refused to put her feet down I pulled over for about 20 minutes on the highway. She'd rather have one of her friends get out of the car, walk to the mall and call their parents(?) for a ride than listen to me. She just has to be that stubborn and spiteful. It's always been like this, she's too stubborn for her own good. I've got everybody against me on this, nobody really cares. I finally gave in but only 'cause mi madre had been drinking for 9-12 hours already. She wasn't drunk exactly but not completely sober either. That's the regular for her. Also, she can't see at night and said that if I didn't just start driving that she was going to come pick everybody up. That could have been worse. Now, if she hadn't interfered like she did my sister would've caved in eventually because I had her put her seatbelt across her. Not quite on, just across her which has got to be worse. She put her legs on the seat curled up against her. I was making progress. I just wish she'd care more about herself and not always have to be right and get things her way. Everybody just gives in when she opens her mouth and makes a big fuss. *sigh* I've got a feeling I won't be picking them up for a while because it'd be easier for them to just go do it so they won't have to deal with me and my nonsense. I'd rather not anyway but not at this price.
