I have a real problem with a phrase that many people use nowadays. The phrase says "I am gonna live my life the way I think God wants me to live it." If you say and live by this phrase, you are ultimately placing God in a box and limiting His abililities.
In Romans 12:2, it says, "And do not be conformed any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
The Bible expresses that we need to live the way we know God wants us to live and not live the way we think God wants us to live. There is an extreme difference between the two.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct your paths."
-Proverbs 3:5-6
This verse conveys that we should lean not on what we think but take the path that He wants us to take. It is important that we interpret the Bible correctly. It is important for us to understand what God was truly trying to say and not what we think it says.
