Saiyuki Official Chronology
Small details on Hakkai's and Gojyo's childhood are particularly intriguing and good-to-know. Ages in parentheses ( ) are pretty useful too and why does Kami-sama have no age?.
Can't remember if I've posted this here already and have a niggling feeling that I have. Oh well. Adding this to my Link List when I have the time.
Saiyuki Chronology

500 years ago: Son Goku sealed in the rock prison atop Gogyou Mountain.
24 years ago: Kouryuu is born. He is abandoned in a river. Koumyou (35) saves him and takes Kouryuu back to the monastery at Kinzan to raise.
23 years ago: Cho Gonou is born. His parents are human beings. He has a twin sister, Kanan.
Sha Gojyo is born. His father is a demon while his mother a human being.
20 years ago: Koumyou Sanzo (39) meets Ken'yuu (17) in the temple.
Keny'uu kills his master, Godai, inherits the Muten sutra, and is given the title Ukoku by Koumyou.
Parents of Sha Gojyo (3) commit suicide over their forbidden love. Gojyo begins to live at his stepmother's and half-brother Jien’s (9) house.
Parents of Cho Gonou (3) divorce. Gonou lives with his mother while his sister with the father.
19 years ago: Koumyou (40) begins travels with Ukoku (18).
Kouryuu (6) is left in the care of the temple monks.
18 years ago: Koumyou (41) ends his journey and comes back to his temple.
The mother of Cho Gonou (5) abandons him to an orphanage.
17 years ago: Ukoku (20) visits the temple in which Koumyou lives.
15 years ago: Calling.
14 years ago: Ukoku takes a child (Kami-sama) with him and visits again Koumyou’s temple. In this occasion Kami-sama meets Kouryuu (11).
12 years ago: Koumyou’s death (47), immediately following his ordination of Kouryuu as Genjo Sanzo the 31st, the owner of Maten and Seiten sutras. He leaves the temple to retrieve the Seiten sutra that was stolen when Koumyou was murdered.
11 years ago: Sha Gojyo (12) is nearly killed by his stepmother. Jien kills her and then (18) abandons Gojyo.
8 years ago: Sanzo (16) comes to Chang'an temple. He meets the abbot who is murdered. Sanzo is officially installed as head of the temple, begins smoking.
Cho Gonou (15) leaves the orphanage and studies by a college. There he meets Kanan.
Sha Gojyo (15) meets Banri and they become partners.
6 years ago: Sanzo (18) meets Goku (13) and releases him from his prison. Goku returns with him to Chang'an.
Cho Gono (17) leaves college with Kanan.
5 years ago: Kanan is kidnapped by Hyakuganmao.
4 years ago: 'Be There' arc.
Following an order of Sanbutsushin, Sanzo (20) and Goku (15) are sent to retrieve the criminal Cho Gonou
Cho Gonou meets Sha Gojyo. Both are 19 years old.
After meeting with the Sanbutsushin, Cho Gonou changes his name in Cho Hakkai and lives with Gojyo.
3 years ago: Banri comes back and meets Gojyo again. Both are 21 years old.
1 year ago: Hakkai and Gojyo (both 23 years old) accept the mission entrusted to Sanzo by Sanbutsushin.
Now: The journey begins.
