Well, it's been a long time, long time now
The fiasco with my credit card has basically been sorted out, or at least I hope it has. I've basically done what I can while in France, anyway.
It was my hope that this summer school/conference would convince me to stay in academia, but that doesn't appear to be happening. At least I have found some cool people working my field (which gives me hope that most other math grad students aren't quite as socially awkward as I'd feared).
A word of advice for anyone traveling to France--don't bother trying the pizza! :P We gave it a shot twice here, and both times it was flat/thin and didn't take up much space in the box. We had to go to Pizza Hut before we got a decent-sized pizza...
I was really hoping that I would spend more time trying to write down all that I've been doing here in Nantes, but all the math has been life-draining, and I just can't find the energy to put into blogging.
