Hei-Yue is totally right. You and Andy got stuck in the meltdown of a very unstable moment. Here's what I feel certain about in regards to that night. Take it for what you will:
God's love was being made abundantly real and available to students in a powerful way (I don't have to tell you about that power). This is when the devil (whose being is centered against our communion with God) is most fired up to act and he acted in a big, big way. But there was an answer from y'all ready for that devil. I may never forget yours personally. You shot him down and with Christ on your side and that was the end of it for that night.
But you see, Holly, here's the specialty of evil. A biblical name for the devil is "the accuser". When the children of God are drawn into sin for whatever reason, it's that devil who's the first one to step up and say "Look at you. You're not cut out for this. How can you call yourself a Christian. You'd better not even look at God if you're like that. He doesn't want you." Needless to say, the other name for the devil is "LIAR".
The accuser is always prowling around waiting to jump on your insecurities. But you've got to stay aware and confront him personally. Jesus has made you a child of God, a literal princess in the kingdom of heaven (check out Hebrews 2). That means that, even here on earth, that accuser's got nothing on you. You just keep telling him that. You are God's beloved daughter, plain and simple. And nothing can change that. Curl up next to Jesus. Hold his hand and he'll get you through. I love you and I'll lift you up in my prayers. Enjoy God and shine like the cherished daughter of God that you are.
