Fingers Crossed...
I've put in an application to rent a place just north of downtown Edmonton (very near where Alina's pseudo-grandma Bernie lives, in fact), and we're waiting anxiously to hear back from them. I think if our credit checks out, we've got the place, but I'm still worried that they'll give it to someone who comes along and puts a cheque into their hands. I faxed them a copy of a money order to show that we've got the security deposit ready to mail them, so hopefully we'll be ok. I still have a couple more leads to follow up as well. Bernie works for a real estate agency in Edmonton, but the only places she has open are downtown and don't come with parking... if we fail to find something elsewhere, we'll probably take her up on the offer (IF they haven't been rented already). I should know for certain what's happening by Friday.
In the meantime, I've been sorting comic books (so we now have another big stack of stuff to take to 8th Street Books and/or Tramps). We got rid of one of our old bookcases, and tomorrow I should be able to move Hazel out of the storage room into the corner of our bedroom where the bookcase was. That will open up the storage room and then I can REALLY start packing, since I'll have somewhere to put the boxes as I fill them. Alina is going to steal a few boxes from work tomorrow and we should be good to go.
