Oh my GODS. C2E2 this year was the most epic con YET. I had pretty much the best experience ever, cold and all. This con is just so... vibrant. The people are happy, the guests are nice, and the shopping is killer. Truly magical.
OK, let's see... after a little snafu trying to find the parking lot Albie, Zach, Devin and I got into the con Fri and immediately just started wandering, checking out the publishers' booths, getting the lay of the land and scoping the initial shopping.
There really weren't any panels I was interested in that day, so that worked out well. We got some autographs, like Loeb, Hopeless, and Aaron. The Marvel booth was pretty fun that day. They had a costume pageant where anyone in a Marvel costume could go up on the stage. It was really fun, and since Devin was Ironette (a girl Iron Man) she got to go up there :).
Then they did this really neat thing where they had all the X-Men costumes go up, then the Avengers costumes, THEN they had the AvX ;). There was even a little girl dressed as Hope, which made it all the better <3. Met up with my friend Rian and we hit the artists alley briefly and shopped some more.
Saturday was EPIC. I went to the Avengers Vs X-Men panel, the Marvel Animation panel and the Vertigo: New Blood panel. They were each better than the last and I'm really glad I went to all 3 <3.
Devin had an absolute BLAST getting her pic taken Sat. She was a little Spider Girl diva <3.
There was much more shopping, discovering of great booth after great booth, and some more signings. Devin wanted to get her Magic Trixie, Super Pets, and Patrick the Wolf Boy books all signed, so we did just that, scoring me awesome sketches in the process. Then more fun over in the Marvel booth.
Sat night we all had dinner with Dad, which was cool.
Sunday was, indeed, glorious. I missed Devin, but my friend Lee came and we thoroughly concurred the con. MORE shopping, but who could blame us? After that, we dominated the artists alley! We (barely) made it through the entire thing, and my book is so full of happy beautiful sketches I could squee all night <3. All of the artists were very nice and personable, and we got to chat with quite a few really cool people like Brian Azarello, Jim Keefe, Adam Hughes, Tim Seeley, Franchesco, and I can't even remember who else now. But everyone was super awesome! I bought a Harley sketch from Amy Mebberson that kicks ass. So much epic awesome, I'm going to squee all night. Except for the pure exhaustion. Yes.
A few more cool pics
here <3.
And the best news of all?
Devin, for the first time mostly EVER, pooped on the potty, AT THE CON! HA!! She had to go, she was showing me the signs, so I scooped her up and made her sit. She did fight me, but then she HAD to go, and she did it, right there!!! I was so happy I let her pick out a prize, which she picked a fairy necklace from the Sparkle booth. YAY!!!!!
