Update - where have I been??
I'm so far behind I'm not even sure it's worth trying to play "update since the last time" at this point. Besides, I barely remember THIS week!! o_O So... yeah.
Hi! How you doing? Where you been? What you been up to?? Long time, no see for sure...
Well, I can go back a bit. I officially entered the digital age July 14th with the purchase of my first ever smartphone. I got a Motorola Flipside, but then after using it and learning more about the phones in general I ended up getting the Motorola Atrix 4G on the 20th. I'm still a little baffled and trying to get used to it, especially with the Gingerbread update that I got TODAY, but I think overall I'm ridiculously happy with it.
I took Dev to Cars 2, I forget when. It was enjoyable and we might have to own it. Dev's in love with Mator <3.
Mom's b-day is the 14th and Dad's is the 15th. Still need to get together with Dad, but Albie, Zach, Mom, Dev, Moe and I all went to Navy Pier the 16th to celebrate. And I can say, with fair confidence, that I will most likely NEVER be going back to the Pier on a Saturday during the summer EVER again, but Mom had fun, and Moe got Dev a Build-a-Bear Smurfette, so there was fun to be had. Plus, for some reason, I REALLY enjoyed the Oh Yes Chicago shop, and wish to return for stuff.
I've been a little sick and tired and overwhelmed so I had to stomp the breaks a little, so we've been doing minimal stuff. Which worked out cause it was so damn dangerously hot. The 19th I cancelled all plans 'cept a little shopping trip, the pool and True Blood with Zahra. The 20th was home made smoothies and belly dance practice at Neta's, very good. Thurs I cleaned, discovered the water was shut off and went to dance class. Good times. The apartment's looking good overall, but I stuffed a bunch of boxes into my closet to clear the floor and now I can't get to my clothes. Damnit. Might work on that tomorrow in fact... *sigh* But overall it's gorgeous and I love it.
Work overall had been good. We're either stupid-crazy-busy or *DED*, so that's been interesting. I feel like such a NOOB there still, but I love my job and don't dread going in, so I think there are bonus points right there ;). Good times, yo. Good times. Friday was only notable for the major thunderstorm that hit while I was working, with this huge flash of lightening followed immediately by a massive thunder clap and windows shaking heartily. Epic. And we've had thunderstorms almost every night since...
Sat the 23rd was going to be Faire, but it was TOO HOT, so we went to Riley's first birthday, Katie and Paul's daughter. It was fun and the kids all had a GREAT time <3. Faire, I think, this coming Sat... Internet also punked out for reasons unknown :P. More work after that, mainly uneventful.
Yesterday (Tues) was a Devin day. I got her in the morning, and after errands we had lunch at Pot Belly then went to see Winnie the Pooh. Cute, though I'm not sure I wanna own it. From there we explored the playground at Parkchester Park, it had a big jungle gym-play apparatus thing and she of course loved it. Then dinner at Red Robin with Zahra and catching up on True Blood (I'm in LOVE!!!!!).
Today was another peaceful, at home and resting day. There was a thunderstorm around 10am, so Devin and I ran outside and TOTALLY danced and played in it. She got cold, so we went back in to change, and as the rain starts to ease up we hear quacking by the patio - the ducks came to visit!! <3 we went out to feed them bread in the drizzle and the geese TOTALLY crashed the party ;). After that we came in and played, pretend food then Dev TOTALLY took over my phone and played her games for hours while I surfed the net and read comics. It was pretty rockstar. We had belly dance practice tonight, which was interesting as Dev knocked out in the car, then slept through most of the practice... ON Neta! Hehe. Had to wait for the worst of tonight's thunderstorm to pass, then left for home in the break in the storm...
Drive home was STUNNING, SO MANY lightening bolts that just lit up the sky and flew straight down and were just amazingly beautiful. It was pretty cool. Updated my Atrix from Froyo to Gingerbread when I got home, and now I'm trying to RE-re-learn my phone, heh. Though it barely counts, seeing as I've had it a whole WEEK, heh.
