Update!!

The circus was pretty darn awesome. It's so FUN now that Devin is old enough to watch and get engaged in it, to be interested and ask questions and stuff. All of the acts were great and we had rockstar seats :). We had a yummy snowcone and bought a program. Then we had dinner at Mitsuwa. Mmm... Japanese food... ;). It was a super fun time with Dev's uncles.

Work's been good. Trying to get trained, but we've been crazy busy. I still love it though, so it's all good. We had a German Shepherd that went through a window... after a squirrel, heh. And a yellow lab pup named Butter. *BUTTER*!! He was ok, just a little gi upset. Hehehe... Butter. :D

Thursday Devin and I joined Melly, Lydia and CJ at the MSI. We had a great time. We got to see the girl that was living there leave, heh. It was also day 1 of the holidays around the world tree display, so that was neat. There's even a Blackhawks tree! AND a Muppet tree, with fuzzy gifts with eyes AND a fuzzy stand. We all rubbed on it... I want a fuzzy wall so badly ;). We watched the IMAX Hubble movie, it was totally awesome, even if the theater did mess with my height issues a little. Oh, and I'd forgotten how much I love rock candy!! It was super fun. After we had dinner at Melly's. She made homemade gnocci in brown butter and sage. There was a slight recipe snafu, but reguardless it turned out way yummy. AND, as it turns out, frying slices of Sarpino's Spinach Special in browned butter is REALLY damn tasty! Hehehe...

Today we were supposed to have a playdate, but the kids were ill. It kinda turned out ok, though, we had a lazy day. Appearently Dev wanted one... I offered to take her to the movies and she said no, she wanted to stay home and play, hehe. We did laundry, which was actually pretty important. Dev had, finally, her 3 year appt. She is 35.4#, 37in, and she took her flu shot like a champ, though she did look at the doc like he'd betrayed her, heh. She's healthy, and we need to feed her more broccoli and pears to keep her more regular ;). All is well!!

As a treat, I took her to the Ben & Jerry's in Palatine, since it was on the way home. I've not been there in YEARS... all the flavors blew me away!! Dev picked vanilla cake cone with rainbow sprinkles. I ended up with a combo cone, Boston Cream Pie (Boston Cream Pie Ice Cream with Yellow Cake Pieces, Fudge Flakes & Swirls of Pastry Cream) and Pumpkin Cheesecake (Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice Cream with a Graham Cracker Swirl) in a chocolate covered sugar cone. They were both TOTALLY nom. *sigh* It was really fun.

Right next door is Great American Bagel. Appearently in the last hour they sell a baker's dozen of bagels for $4... ALL their bagels, even the specialty ones. OH yeah, I was all over that one ;). Let me tell you, the bacon chedder one is *fabulous* ;). Devin agreed, hehe.

We've been home ever since. I finished laundry. Dev wouldn't nap, then passed out at something like 6:30 and she's been asleep ever since. Whoops...

Tomorrow's another quiet day. Dev's going to her cousin's b-day party, I'm going to belly dance, and that is all she wrote :).
