March recap, heh...

Ugg... I've been so busy and I don't even know what I've been doing!! Like, I don't feel like I should be as busy as I've been. Does that even make sense?

OK... it's time for bed, but I want to recap at least some :). Didn't do much the weekend of the 13th. Work's been good... I can't talk much about it, due to the nature of the work, but I CAN say that I'm madly in love with mouse pups and appearently mamas like to give birth for me, heh. Still love my job. I spent much of the week crocheting and prepping for that Thursday's carpet cleaning. I've STILL not finished pulling the apartment back together after that...

On the 19th Devin and I drove to Washington, IL (near Peoria) after work to visit my friend from high school Liz and her 3 children. Her husband was in Japan for work. sat morning we went to breakfast with the Easter bunny. Dev's picture is SO funny, the look of sheer terror as she clings to me ;). After that was their park district's egg hunt. It was sleeting, but we went anyway and it was tons of fun. It goes quickly. We got bogo free McDonald's coupons in a bunch of the eggs, so we had burgers for lunch. The kids all played all day, it was sweet. After dinner we dyed Easter eggs. It was a little stressful for me, heh, but it was a fun experience. After all the weird weather I decided to spend another night, so we went home Sunday.

This work week was fine. I got my tax refund this week, so so far I've used it to pay off a credit card and to buy a laptop :). I got the Toshiba Satellite L455-S5009 for $400 :). It's SO shiny... but not I need to learn it, heh. Devin's good - she watched Powerpuff Girls with me, and LOVED it, heh. She's talking up a STORM, more words that I can keep track of and full sentences, AND she's started singing whole songs! She now sings Twinkle Twinkle in its entirety, most of Itsy Bitsy Spider, some of Sing, some of Rock-a-Bye Baby, and she'll bounce around singing "Dancing Queen" over and over again at the top of her lungs. I'm a proud mama ;). Sunday I pinched my hand in my closet door while vacuuming. Monday I banged my right knee HARD into the side of the car door while trying to catch my falling purse. There was a HUGE lump and a bruise, and even today I can't really kneel on it yet. Tuesday's bellydance was fun. Thankfully it was slow so the knee wasn't too big of a deal. Friday after work some CRL people went to Seven Ten, which used to be Lucky Strike, a bar on 55th on campus. I have some pretty cool coworkers, so it was a pretty good time. I was supposed to dance with Rosa after that, but she had to babysit, so I finally watched 9. I liked it... creepy, for sure, but I LOVED the stitchpunks and it was a neat concept. Cool.

Yesterday morning I got together with Neta to talk belly dance stuff. After that my friend from work Nicole and her boyfriend came over to try to fix my old laptop since it's so impossibly slow. They were here for hours but it does seem to have helped. Devin had a GREAT time with them, it was so sweet to watch.

And today - we just chilled. Post nap we went grocery shopping, again with tax monies. It's NICE to have a full kitchen again. And it was SUCH a beautiful day so I am glad we got out, even though it wasn't for long. I made the Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie for dinner. It was pretty good; I'm wanting to cook more and I think casseroles are a good way to go. I picked up some cans of cream of chicken and cream of broccoli to make others :). Though really I've been cooking more all this week. I made cheese rotini for dinner and spiced it up with some stuff around the kitchen, half a container of frozen spinach sauteed with canned crab meat and garlic. VERY good. I also made some frozen Jewel brand steak fries and drizzled them with garlic olive oil, and that ended up being CRAZY good :). AND I've been on this big lemon kick recently... I don't know why, but I'm craving lemon flavor o_O. I bought some lemon cookies, and I found this recipe I wanna try now: Lemon Lover's Cupcakes with Lemon Buttercream Frosting. Mmm!! Ooo... these Lemon Snaps too!

Anyway, after dinner we watched Inkheart then showered. She was funny in the shower; she was "washing" my hair and I told her what a good job she was doing, then jokingly I said that she could be a hair stylist to the stars. When I said that she looked up, hehe. So I asked if stars have hair, to which she replied yes ;). And I really liked Inkheart! It could be the literary in me, but I thought it was fun, engaging and interesting. AND it's *finally* going back to Netflix! Yeah!! More movies ftw!! ;)

OK... I should have been asleep an hour ago. Night all!!
