So mithras03 and I went to see Dredd on the Sunday. We were prepared for something that was hopefully shitmazing, but we were quite surprised to discover that Dredd was actually a genuinely solid action-SF film. The action was great, the pacing was extremely solid, and the acting was even all-around excellent.

...why on Earth do people have a problem with the ending of Mass Effect 3?!  I thought that was great!  Very satisfying and exactly the kind of end I might have imagined my Renegade Shep!  It felt like putting a really good book that I had devoured for years to rest, finally, and still left enough of an open question that I feel like they totally ( Read more... )

Anyone who has ever seen a sports movie could predict before popping the disk in what would happen in Warrior.  There is no mystery here.  There is nothing interesting about this movie.  Everyone who is reading this has probably worked out the whole plot of the film from the poster already (especially anyone who's ever seen Rocky).

So, watching Blood Creek, a zombie movie involving Nazis starring Henry Cavill as random protagonist, Dominic Purcell as lost brother hobo, and Michael Fassbender as crazy Nazi scientist.  Not convinced this is worth watching yet, but I have to say:
