Duet August 2012 Kitayama & Fujigaya part
And translation post #2 of my fall break. The request. As I said in my earlier post, I'll be less inclined to take on requests for the time being because I'm busy with school.
It's another one where Kitayama and Fujigaya answer questions about each other, although Fujigaya tries to talk a little about a certain other member, lol. Each section has two titles because in the magazine they had both an English title and a Japanese title. They had slightly different meanings for most of them, but one had the same meaning for both.

The main role is Fujigaya Taisuke, and Kitayama Hiromitsu co-stars. These two under our focus challenge 10 questions. You can see the two up until now and from now on… maybe. Have their dramatic answers!
first impression
~first impression~
FUJIGAYA → KITAYAMA
It’s not just limited to Kitayama, but I don’t remember things like that very much. If it’s my first impression of Wataru, I remember, but… You don’t need that right now? (laugh) The oldest memory I have about Kitayama is, that his school was the same as Yamashita (Tomohisa)-kun and (Tanaka) Koki-kun, and that he wore the same uniform. He spoke normally with Yamashita-kun and Koki-kun who were senpai to us, but since, when lessons started, he was behind us as a Jr., it was strange. Ah, he had short hair and was really tan!
KITAYAMA → FUJIGAYA
The first time I saw Fujigaya, his fashion style was different from now. It was probably a trend of that time, but he wore loose clothing in a B-BOY style.[1] At that time, there were a few people amongst the Jrs. who had that sort of style, and he was in that group. But he had a baby face… that flashes into my mind (laugh).

FUJIGAYA → KITAYAMA
A memory of the two of us is, I guess, making the song “Itsumo Arigatou” together. Last year, at the live I did with Kitayama at Theater Crea, “Everyone come to Crea, Crea!”, rather than one of us suggesting it, we were both like, “Want to try making a song together?” Then we split it so that Kitayama composed the song on the guitar, and I wrote the lyrics. It’s easier for me to write lyrics if there’s a song first, so I had Kitayama make the sounds and rhythms first and received the data by email. I don’t think we got together and worked on it. Like that we made it by exchanging the data back and forth. Other than that, from before Kis-My-Ft2 was made, when we stayed at a hotel for work in a different region, he and I had the same room. I went to hang out in Wataru’s room right away, so I don’t have memories of doing something together with him. But, in the morning, the alarm sound on Kitayama’s cell was amazing. Even though it was super loud, Kitayama wouldn’t wake up, and although at first I called out to him and woke him up, since he wouldn’t wake up much, for the second half I left him without waking him (laugh).
KITAYAMA → FUJIGAYA
We did practice for back flips together. It wasn’t just the two of us, since other people were there too, but checking each other’s back flips… I remember that. I guess I was around 17 then? Fujigaya had a habit where his body would become slanted while back flipping. We also did practice for back flips wearing roller skates. Who was able to back flip cleanly first… I don’t remember that much (laugh).

The two of us recently? There really isn’t anything (laugh). It’s normal for us to be together at work, so an episode to talk about especially… there aren’t any!
KITAYAMA → FUJIGAYA
It’s gotta be the drama Beginners! There was a first meeting, and at that time, we greeted our co-stars and the staff. Without really talking it over, when it was time to say “Let’s go greet them now”, we both stood with a tacit understanding… There we both felt how long we’ve known each other.

Kitayama is, a person who challenges lots of different things, a person who knows a lot about the news, a person who knows restaurants well (laugh), a good guy!
KITAYAMA → FUJIGAYA
Fujigaya is a person who seems hard to approach at a glance, but once you try talking to him, he’s easy to befriend.

High notes. Because we sing harmonies together a lot, but I definitely take the upper part.
KITAYAMA → FUJIGAYA
Appetite. Recently I’ve been holding back a lot, thinking about style. But really I want to be eating all the time (laugh). It’s not that Fujigaya’s an especially small eater. Just, the amount he eats is too average and doesn’t leave an impression. Compared to that, I really eat a lot…

How he leads the MC. How he looks at different people and waits. Also, his memory is good. I think it’s amazing because he remembers things I don’t remember, like the first outfit he wore.

(When he hears Fujigaya’s answer to “where you won’t lose) high notes! (laugh) But I seriously think that. Since I think youth lingers in Fujigaya’s singing voice for high tones, meaning he hasn’t changed, and I like it.

How he “seems to want”. At the end of a talk, he tries to carry it with his own material or rather… Although that’s also helped us. It’s also that Kitayama does it for us because other members won’t put themselves forward, so I don’t think it’s bad. But, I think it’ll be a problem if there are times when Kitayama takes that chance even if other people try to go for it.

There’s nothing like a weak point or a problem. Just, something I think is strange is “What are your true feelings?” I’ll say “it’s like this!” straightforwardly, and my words and actions are easy to understand, right. But Fujigaya’s feelings are hard to see, or rather he has the image that he doesn’t show his true feelings much. I wonder what would happen if he became emotional. I want to see him sobbing seriously.

A girl who’d suit Kitayama? Kitayama’s the type to lead her to a lot, so I think a girl who likes that way of dating is good. Also, Kitayama is knowledgeable, so a girl who can ask “Why?” who’s good at questions. For appearance… a girl with a cute feeling?
KITAYAMA → FUJIGAYA
A girl who’d suit Fujigaya… How about the type who dreams about love? Fujigaya seems like he’d think of things that’d please his girlfriend and do different things for her, so a girl who’d be pleased at that sort of planning. Even among girls, there are girls who’re matter-of-fact about romance, so not that, but I think a girl who can enjoy love is good. But, looks-wise, a girl who’s mature seems good.

FUJIGAYA → KITAYAMA
I’ll do my best (laugh). Or rather, I don’t have a strategy or anything. Because in the end, whether my rival in love is Kitayama or whoever, the girl is the one who decides. Well, I’ll do everything I can. But, if that happens I might see a side of Kitayama I didn’t know about through that girl. Like what kind of approach he’d use. If I can hear from her “Kitayama-kun did this for me”, that’d get interesting, and I might start looking forward to what Kityama’ll do next more than to her (laugh).
KITAYAMA → FUJIGAYA
His way of fighting would probably be the opposite. I’d strongly appeal to her straightforwardly. Because I’m the type where if I’m calculating with this sort of thing, it turns out bad (laugh). In the end, the girl decides, so I don’t know the outcome.

Because with the two of us there’s really nothing in particular. I really don’t know what Kitayama’s usually doing (laugh).

Because it seems like until just recently, he was busy with filming for the drama, Shinikare. By looking at him, he hasn’t seemed tired. But if it’s like always, Fujigaya’s had times where he’s been troubled that, “Even if I want to raise them I can’t raise” his spirits until a point of it’ll probably come this far, so I wonder if he’s resting properly.
