Whoever wrote these subtitles might think like I do...
Just watched the second episode of Sengoku Basara Season 2, and it's still going strong! Okay, forget what I said last time about the ho-yay. Less than 4 minutes into episode 2, and I had to pause the video and step away from my computer from how much I was laughing at how subtext-bordering-on-text laden Hanbei and Kojuuro's conversation was being. I don't know if the Japanese was that blatant as well, or if the fansub group let a BL fan do the translation or what, but seriously. "There shall be no other man in my life but Masamune-sama!" - Kojuuro. Thank you, fansubber. Thank you.
Hanbei. Oh Hanbei. He's such a bitch. What he does in this episode: kidnaps Kojuuro and then rubs it in Masamune's face by mocking him for not being able to lead an army as well without him. Kick a man while he's down, why don't you! I bet Hanbei would, too. Even though I say all this, so far, I don't particularly dislike Hanbei. He's pretty fabulous and his weapon provides for some really awesome fight scenes in this episode.
I also really loved how upset Masamune was over Kojuuro getting kidnapped. I can see that this will be an interesting season for me. <3
And, to uh, talk about other characters too, Keiji was not immune from the subtext fest in this episode as he talked with Kenshin about his "friends" fighting. Kasuga was her usual self, being completely head over heals for Kenshin. Mouri and Chosokabe still have only been mentioned without being shown really doing anything. (I hope their time actually comes in this season, instead of just being thrown into some OVA like last season.) Yukimura gets sent off on a mission, and I think one of his followers is kinda hot, but he does not have a name currently (and may possibly never have one.)
I'm really loving the ending, too. I was enjoying the song so much that I found the pv for the song. It's pretty unexciting as far as music videos go, but it does contain the full song and show you the people behind it! (Spoilers. It's a viskei group.)
